Today is a fine day being at Five Triangle Arts. I was accepted and I made my way back to the inn I was staying at. I packed up my belongings in my room I rented out for a few nights and took them back to the academy. A guide orb showed my way to my dorm, where I was greeted by a plain wooden door and a plain-looking room with two beds, two desks, two chairs, and one mirror between the beds. I set everything down on the side of the room not already occupied, and decided to start unpacking everything. I took my quill and inkwell out of my baggage and set it upon the desk. I set my hat and shoes in a corner where a uniform, hat, undergarments, and leather shoes sat waiting for me. I heard the door open and looked over to see a young man in a uniform, taking off his hat and setting it on his desk. I ignored him and grabbed my uniform and shoes. The Five Triangles uniform is designed to be worn over normal shirts and breeches, allowing one to wear a cuirass and greaves to defend themselves in physical battle while still having the magical defense of the uniform's copper lacing; plus, the uniform is mostly made of burlap and wool, making it uncomfortable on the skin.1057Please respect copyright.PENANAGfkdHNc4gY
Keeping my current undergarment, a simple undertunic, on, I slipped into the uniform, which was a little heavy (considering it was also a little defense again a blade), and put on the leather shoes and pointed hat. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked great, if I may say so, and I admired how the copper lacing in the uniform was woven into intricate designs, mostly triangle-based. I heard a "pfft" and glanced over at my roommate.1057Please respect copyright.PENANAEaS8R7qiGj
"What?" I asked.
"I wasn't laughing at you admiring yourself; don't worry. I just realized you're in the fifth degree. Look at your badge."
He was right. Although I was accepted into Five Triangles, I wasn't qualified as an average student. I can barely hurt a mouse with my orb spells. It's healing that I'm adept at.
"I'm going to try my hardest, though."
"That's the spirit. Do so, and you might get into the third. I might see you in my classes if you can build up the power of your spells. Of course, I may already be in the second or first by then."
"Stop bragging. It may make you lose your head to a warrior."
"Lose my head? I know you're not threatening me, only warning me, but a Nigon can't take on a Magon."
Any Nigon has the potential to outmatch a Magon in physical matches., I thought. I silenced my thoughts so I wouldn't speak rashly to my newfound roommate. "When did I say Nigon? I said a warrior. Magon warriors, from the Northeast."
"Oh, them. Their company is staying in town? They'll cause too much trouble with the bandits. At least we won't have to deal with either of them."
"I'm glad that I was enrolled in here, even in the fifth degree, because I can get away from them."
"Now that's something we can agree on." With that, the conversation ended.
It seems I might make a new friend.
