It seems that I've lost many friends. In the past two months, trade routes were established between Eslientum and the Drumwinvillet village. We thought it would be easy pillage, but the guards and mercenaries sent with the carriages and carts were skilled, although few. I've lost five in my command and seven wounded, and Boss lost thirty with eighteen wounded. A whole brigand section has been cut off from us inside the Greu Hill mines, so we might as well have lost fifty good allies. The Silent Highwaymen hiding in the land east of Eslientum have also been silenced, the irony. That's twenty more gone. Our bandit allies are weakening because of my damn father. The network's threads are being pulled out of their rightful places. The only thread in its correct place is the fort southward, where an army of highwaymen reside, blocking a trade route between Eslientia and its neighbor, Bolinwood.
I found the few Magon we had received from the slums and told them they could start healing my troops. They declined, as if it were a question; I could see the dread and wariness in their eyes. They would need some rest before trying to heal anymore of our brothers and sisters. These Magon are the lowest of their kind, so they're labeled as common Nigon and thrown outside into a world of hateful and racist Nigon. When they came to us, one by one, we began to accept more Magon into our ranks. We only have twenty, sending five to different brigand and bandit allies as aids, but our numbers have been declining ever since the city started sending out Magon patrols. We treat our Magon as human beings, but they're physically weak and only novices in magic, so we kind of have to baby-feed them. It’s like transferring baby birds from one bad nest to another bad nest. Though they aren’t very skilled, they know how to heal. Healing helps out numbers stay afloat.
Only recently, the old trade routes from Eslientum to Nilile Acordum have been guarded by patrolling Magon warriors, from the Northeast we suppose, searching for any traces of the long-gone Freirs in order to exterminate them. These warriors are not only great in strength, a kick sending a man flying tens of meters, but also in magic, using it to amplify a punch to create a hole in someone's torso. They’re monsters. And they don't use weapons. From what I've heard from my spying, it's because they philosophically believe that one does not know the power of a weapon, for even a great smith can create a flawed weapon, but one knows their own being and power. The Northeast has good philosophy, I'll give them that. Of course, it's ironically because of the Freirs. Funny.
They say that to defeat a force of greater strength, you must be greater in wit. Our enemy is great in both strength and wit.1142Please respect copyright.PENANAKqxBgV46mV
