The sun gently set on the cold horizon, there was no one in sight, but a distant voice could be heard. Beautiful, and alluring. The back of a woman was vaguely visible. She appeared to be sitting on a rock, singing songs, gently and softly, yet her voice had magic in it. It made you feel like if it stopped, your life would end. A guard gently approached her, ‘checking her out’. She did nothing but grin and continue the singing, but came to a sudden halt when he touched her upper lip. He gave her a petty smile and said “What are you doing here girl? Come home with me….I’ll make you comfortable”. She glared at him before pushing him into the water, slowly choking and drowning him. She herself jumped into the water and disappeared.

I gently swim down, into the near-depth of the sea. “Here you are Yeji. It’s another human boy.” I said and a figure came out of the darkness and turned to face me. It wasn’t Yeji, but it was someone familiar…”L-Lisa…?” I said, trembling. Lisa is like the ‘Ruler of Sirens’. She likes to keep peace between land-beings and us underwater creatures. She doesn’t support us young sirens hunting through the beach. She thinks we’ll get caught and be captured by those humans. She doesn’t like when me and Yeji hang out at the top of the beach. We tried hard to keep this thing a secret but she found out. I look at Lisa regretfully while she glares at me. Yeji slowly makes her way forward with her head down. We make eye-contact, discussing what to say just with expressions. I decide to open up and apologise when Lisa speaks.“What are you guys doing?” she says and looks at us confusedly. I quickly shake my head and say “N-nothing…I-Were sorry for-” I was saying but I got cut off by her. “Sorry for what? I think it’s a great idea! In fact, I’ll supply you guys with the perfect ingredients for it.@ she said. I felt relieved but something felt strange. The whole thing she just said, she wasn’t looking at either of us. Instead, she was staring up at the glistening waves that shined under the soft moonlight.
