"He hasn't answered the phone in months, I'm worried." Ryuu started to frown and look down, like he was ashamed. "It's not your fault, dude! It's none of ours. Let's stop by today. Maybe he'll comply." Satoru started to console Ryuu until they got to Kurai's apartment.
"Just knock, I'll be just a second, okay?" Ryuu stood at Kurai's front door, waiting for the right time to knock. It felt like a yarn ball choked up his throat. He couldn't think straight. "I just... Don't want to mess this up." The light knock makes its way through the thin wood door. Satoru hauled the snack up the stairs of the building, thinking about Kurai all the way up to the 4th floor.
I hear faint speaking outside my door. Neighbors? I hear a muffled familiar voice. Ryuu. Satoru. My eyes welt up and finally have tears leak out. I start choking on my tears and audibly crying. Loud. Rely loud. I might get a noise complaint. I bury my face in my pillow so no noise is audible. They must've heard me because I now hear them knocking louder and calling my name.
"Satoru. Kurai, he's.. Crying?" "I've never heard him cry." They duo sit out there thinking about what to do. "Kurai...? " Ryuu started to try consulting Kurai. "It's me, Ryuu. And Satoru's out here too. Please, just try to talk to us. We love you so much. I wish we'd talk more."
I hear Ryuu talking to me. I wipe my tears and stare at the door. I wish I could just..... Talk. To them. I get up to go get something to eat. They hear my footsteps and call out to me, like moths attracted to a light. But there's no light. Come to think of it, this place looks disgusting. I hadn't realized. So sulked into my thoughts.
