I was dying.
“Help. Me.” I moaned as my Lola handed me a glass of water.
“Suck it up.” She said, rolling her eyes. “Three more hours to go. Which would go faster if you find a suitor.”
I groaned into my hands.
“But Lola…” I whined.
“No buts. Butts are for sitting.” She glared at me. “You have to get a boyfriend.”
Lola stood up.
“Well I have to go.” She waggled a finger at me. “Go find a guy.”
I sighed heavily when she left. Grumbling, I pushed myself off the chair and headed towards the dance floor.
Hmm, maybe if I just choose a nice guy and break up with him.
I scanned the room quickly. At the end, I came up with three that looked fairly nice.
The first was a red haired one with a charming smile on his face. The second one had light brown hair and was laughing with his friends. The third was a blonde haired one. He had his back to me and he was getting a glass of water.
I decided to greet the red haired one.
When I reached him, he immediately smirked.
Okay, bad idea, I do not need an arrogant cocky guy.
I was about to leave when he pulled me towards him.
“Care to dance?”
I groaned in frustration in my head.
“Sure.” I replied with a fake smile.
He grinned and pulled me towards the middle of the dance floor.
“So, Princess Adelaide.” He started.
“Just Adelaide will be fine.” I quickly added.
He cocked an eyebrow.
“Okay then, Adelaide.”
His hand snaked around my waist.
“What’s your name?” I asked, curious.
“Chase.” He replied. “Did you find a suitor yet?”
I rolled my eyes.
“Not yet.”
He smirked again, and I could already tell what he was thinking.
“Well, I think I could change that.”
Chase’s hand moved lower. I stiffened. Chase noticed and smirked. He pulled me towards him, his hot breath fanning my face. I immediately felt disgusted. I hated when boys did that.
“If you could just move your hand from my butt, that would be nice.” I said through gritted teeth.
“Why should I?” Chase leaned down towards me.
Holy cheese crackers he better not try what I think he’s going to do.
“Move. Away. From. Me.” I hissed.
He gripped my back, pulling me towards him.
Oh heck no.
I immediately jerked back and slapped him in the face.
Angry, I stomped off.
That son of a potato! How dare he try and kiss me?
I looked around for the brown haired one. Where is he?
I quickly scanned the crowd. I spotted him getting a glass of water.
I tried to squeeze past the crowd, running towards where I saw him when-
“Oomph!”
I groaned as I held my head in pain.
“Shit, sorry, I didn’t watch where I was going.”
I looked up.
“Oh it’s you.” We glared at the same time.
“Move.” I scowled.
Carter looked amused.
“Again, princess?”
My scowl twisted into a smirk.
“If I remember correctly, last time I was the one who got my way.” I stuck my tongue out childishly.
Carter rolled his eyes.
“Well that’s not going to happen this time.” He declared.
“We’ll see.” I grinned.
Carter smirked as he took my hand. He used his other hand to caress my cheek.
My breathing quickened.
I placed my other hand on his chest, and stepped towards him.
Carter pulled me towards his body, pressing me up against him. Slowly, I snaked my arm around his neck.
We were both breathing heavily now as we stared into each other’s eyes, not wanting to give up.
My eyes flickered towards his lips. They were so soft, so pink. I glanced back to see Carter looking at my lips as well.
I unconsciously moved closer, and so did he.
I soon realized we were so close that if I moved my lips would touch his.
Just one kiss.
No Adelaide! What are you doing?
It’s only one.
Oh no Adelaide you better not.
What’s the worst that could happen?
My eyes fluttered close and I leaned forward.
Our lips touched and I felt my lips moving synchronized to his. They were softer than I had expected.
I gripped his hair and pulled myself closer to him, if that was even possible. His arms wrapped around my waist, making me gasp into the kiss. I ran my tongue along the bottom of his tongue and he groaned.
I was about to deepen the kiss when a flash of light startled me.
We both jumped back immediately. I jerked around to find a bunch of reporters and cameramen crowding around us.
I looked back at Carter, my face heating up. Carter was staring at the crowd, eyes wide.
My eyes fell upon Corrie, who had her mouth open as her hand held a glass of wine.
She saw me looking and raised an eyebrow.
I swung my head back to the eager crowd.
A reporter stepped forward.
“So Adelaide, we see you have found your suitor.”
