My older sister and I were going to Wal-Mart last minute because we didn't have chocolate chips and we needed some for the cookies we were making. (Don't ask me why this had to bee so late, only teenage minds can come up with this crap) When we got to Wal-Mart there were only ten other cars in the parking lot and it was very quiet. We had what we like to call the "sleepy sillies" where you get to the point in tiredness that EVERYTHING is funny. So we were giggling our way over to the baking supplies and I asked my sister if I could get a treat, she said sure and I wandered over to the candy aisle while she continued on the quest for chocolate chips. On my way over I spotted the saltwater taffy. My thought process went along the lines of, "oh saltwater taffy, I like those, so I think I'm gonna get them, but wait I don't want a whole bunch, just one." (Paraphrasing of course) I grabbed my single piece of taffy and met my sister by the self-checkout. When she saw what I had grabbed she just laughed and gestured for me to ring it up. I know what most of you are thinking, why didn't I just eat it? Because that is stealing and I don't steal. Anyways, I tried ringing it up and I couldn't find it anywhere. And if you have ever used the self-checkout things at Wal-Mart they are so touchy and if you put something in the bag wrong it calls for the attendant. So it made us stop and the attendant walks over and, just my luck, it was a very hot guy. He asked us what the problem was and I gestured to the single piece of taffy sitting on the scanner. I started blushing like mad because I am such an awkward person and he just smirked and walked over to grab the catalog. When he came back, he punched in the number, weighed the taffy and the problem was solved. (by the way, a single piece of saltwater taffy at Wal-Mart is five cents...) We finished checking out and started to walk away, past the hot dude and he turned around and said, "Congratulations on your purchase." I almost died of embarrassment and I practically ran out of the store. All my sister did was laugh so hard she got the hiccups. She laughed all the way home and told all of her friends at school and they still tease me about it to this day.
