Louie's pov
" Where are you going , louiee?" a tired voice asked from behind me.
crap.
Turing around I faced my roommate , Jamie.
" Your awake?" I asked him setting my bag down beside the window sill. He nodded , as he let a yawn escape from between his thin lips. Jamie was dressed in a red and white striped onesie clutching his favorite general Mccstuffin teddy bear near his chest.
" Are you leaving ?" he asked as his lips quivered slightly. My heart almost broke into a million pieces just from that one little action.
We lived in an orphanage with a few other kids since most of the babies got adopted.
Jamie was older than me , he was sixteen while I was just fourteen. Ever since I came to the orphanage a few years ago , Jamie and I have been close.
I swallowed the guilt down , I couldn't bring myself to speak.
" You were weren't you?!" He shouts with tears threatening to spill down his face.

I didn't want him to cause a commotion.
God knows what'll happen then.
If you hadn't already guessed it I was , was !, in the process of making an escape.
Jamie nods hugging me tightly. "Please take me with you." He pleads.
Sighing I ran my hand through his hair slowly." Jamie you know I cant."
I really wanted too and I could if I would but I can't.
He whined and buried his head into my chest " Why notaahhh!!??...."
" Because your getting adopted tomorrow remember?" I asked him. Sometimes he had the tendency to forget stuff when he's in this state.
"Please don't leave me , not yet ...Please..." he begged burying his head into the crook of my neck.
My heart clenched , I could feel the guilt stirring in the depths of my conscience.
He's guilt tripping me.
Maybe I should stay , after all it was the last time I'll be seeing him.

" alright but only until your new parents come for you ."
Jamie squealed , sadness long forgotten , and engulfed me in a bone crushing hug.
"Ack!...okay calm down will you , the others will wake up from all your noise."I scolded him , although I sounded mad I wasn't , I was quite happy to be seeing Jamie off.
Jamie grinned like the child he was and grabbed my hands leading me back into the bedroom.
He climbed onto the bed , tapping the empty space beside him. Smiling I slipped off my old raggedy sneakers and slipped into the bed next to him.
Jamie snuggled into my chest sighing , I patted his back to get him to sleep . He mumbled gibberish as he slowly fell into a deep sleep.
Unlike him I was not one to go to sleep so easily. I knew I'd be up until dawn.
Sighing I pulled Jamie closer to me for comfort.
