Once more, opening eyes, squinting at the light that shine into the pupils. As one's head rose, they became aware of the sheer cold around them, reflective ice that layered the floor beneath them and engaged them. With each breath, frost clouds would drift from their nose and mouth.
Looking around, one could only see the frosty blue surfaces that had wavering reflections of the one who stood there. A headache was so piercing that even one's eyes twitched. Stepping forward only caused a brief slip, struggling to stay upright. Voices spoke in hushed whispers, mocking the one who stood there.
"Didn't you hear? They said they'd get married!"
"A promise to stay? Yeah right. They didn't stay for anyone else!"
"They said they LOVE them? They've said that soo many times before."
When trying to ignore the voices by covering one's ears proved to be pointless, an ice cold gaze was met with a reflection of oneself. Far more battered, far more hurt... The reflection spoke, hands pressed to its icey enclosure.
"I'm fine.."
Upon those common and yet cursed words, the ice cracked and a sudden stabbing feeling pulsed through one's stomach, coughing up horrendous amounts of blood. They fell to their knees, the pain worsening and causing their face to contort from it.
Upon squirming there against blood covered ice, a foot slowly weighed down on one's neck. An empty face stood over them, an expression filled with bitter disgust, but an endless sorrow. With that, the voice echoed out, loud and clear.
"You'll die over and over again with each lie you tell. From the inside out, you'll rot. You claim if you ignore their words, it'll be okay. But even you know... That's. Just. Another. Lie."
With the finishing of its words, there was a crack as it snapped the one's neck, their vision turning to be pitch black.
