The once colossal creature morphed into a tall muscular humanoid figure. Its form, while resembling a human, the uncanny air was mysterious. Luminescent veins of eerie energy pulsed beneath its seemingly solid surface, casting an otherworldly glow that accentuated its humanoid shape.
The commander narrowed their eyes to see through the still fading, but thick fog, trying to see the figure better but before they could fully act and barely dodged it’s fist. As the figure reappeared above them, it punched the ground below so hard it caused a quake and the area where the figure had struck crumbled to dust. The remaining sharp debris managed to wound the commander's left leg causing them to fall.
Seung immediately rushes over to the commander, but the figure intercepts his from reaching the commander as he threw fist after fist, gradually chipping away at the great sword's durability as the great force forces Seung to get blown backwards.
"C-Commander what is this thing!" cries Seung as he charges at the figure
The commander forced her body to get up despite the sharp debris damaging her left leg's nerves. It caused immense pain and made it difficult to move freely.
Riki cuts in a worried voice "Commander your leg is injured and this thing is on another level!" Riki pauses and then speaks again "I hate to say this but we have to flee!"
Seung groans as the impact of the blows start to affect him "W-we have to go commander!" he adds while trying to hold up against the figure
The commander looked around, unsure what to do. As she stared at Riki's worried face and at Seung, who seemed to be losing the battle. It forced the commander into a limbo, whether to flee or fight. The commander's words would either put them in danger or save them, but she didn't want to lose something as unique as this behemoth.
Once again scanning everybody's faces, the commander let out a sigh and gripped her scythe tighter as she balanced herself. She made a swift decision. "Riki, Seung, fall back!" they commanded, their voice cutting through the chaos. "I'll hold the line."
Riki hesitated for a moment, concern etched on her face, but she nodded in reluctant agreement. Seung, still grappling with the onslaught, nodded as well, understanding the necessity of the retreat.
The commander, now facing the relentless figure alone, braced for impact. The behemoth, sensing the change in strategy, intensified its assault. Despite the pain shooting through their injured leg, she swung the scythe with precision, creating a defensive barrier against the oncoming blows.
The scythe moved with swift and smooth movement. Intercepting the behemoth's blows, igniting sparks that briefly illuminated the battlefield like stars flickering in the night sky.
Following the commander's orders, Riki and Seung swiftly left the intense battle. They moved through the chaos, avoiding the fierce attacks, until they reached a safer spot.
Once at a secure location, Riki and Seung swiftly contacted the agency. The communication channel crackled to life.
"This is the agency. Report your status, Riki and Seung."
Seung immediately responds "We're at a safe spot, but the commander's facing that behemoth alone. It's not looking good. The commander wants to hold the line, but we need backup."
The operator sighs before speaking sternly "Riki, Seung, what part of 'wait for the aircraft' did you not understand? You were explicitly told to stay out of another engagement."
Riki and Seung tries to reason with the operator before the operator cuts them both of and says "I don't want excuses. You were given a direct order. Now, hold your position, and let the commander do their job. Reinforcements are in route. Disobeying orders puts the entire mission at risk. Copy?" Forcing both Riki and Seung to reluctantly accepted their fates.
In the intense battle, the commander stood strong against the behemoth's attacks. The clash of metal echoed, showcasing the commander's great defense. The scythe, skillfully wielded, blocked the behemoth's strikes. It created sparks that briefly lit up the chaotic battlefield.
The air crackled with an eerie energy as the behemoth spoke with a deep, resonant voice. "Impressive, Commander. Your determination reverberates with the swings of your blade. A rare sight, indeed."
The commander's eyes widened slightly in surprise, a subtle shock crossing her face. She muttered to herself about the strange behavior of the behemoth but swiftly refocused on the battle. In that momentary distraction, however, the behemoth seized the opportunity and struck at her injured leg, causing her to drop to the ground in pain.
"You should harbor a sense of honor, Commander." it intoned, the weight of its words echoing. "Dying by my hands is a privilege. Moreover, you compelled me into my true form, a rare feat. Your resistance, though futile, has been a commendable struggle. I acknowledge that."
The behemoth's acknowledgment carried a strange mix of condescension and acknowledgment, leaving a chilling atmosphere in its wake.
It clenched its fist, poised to crush the commander's skull, but a sudden beam of energy struck the behemoth's arm, creating a veil of smoke upon impact.
Riki, positioned behind a pile of rubble, shouted taunts at the behemoth, "Over here, come get me!" She fired a series of energy beams, but her jaw dropped as the smoke cleared, revealing the behemoth completely unscathed as it ran towards her in extreme.
Riki's voice cut through the battlefield, "You're not the only one with tricks, big guy!" She unleashed a barrage of energy beams, aiming for the behemoth's vulnerable spots.
Seung, witnessing the turn of events, readied his weapon, prepared to support Riki but found it nearly impossible to find an opening as Riki’s shots were relentless and unpredictable.
After a relentless storm of bullets, Riki's weapon emitted steam and failed to shoot, clearly overused. A moment of realization struck her as she observed the approaching behemoth. "Uh-oh," she exclaimed, quick on her feet. With unparalleled agility, she evaded the behemoth's attacks, reaching into her coat, pulling out concealed pistols with a glint of thrill and delight in her eyes. The grin was engraved on her face, but without missing a beat, she unleashed a torrent of rapid, less powerful but precision-guided bullets of energy.
"You dare mock me, insignificant mortal?" The words resonated with a menacing growl, before it released an ear shattering scream that forced Riki back.
In a moment of primal rage, the behemoth unleashed its power, plunging its massive hand into the ground. The very floor beneath Riki erupted, and with an explosion, enormous spikes shot out with extreme force. The battlefield was immediately transformed into a perilous terrain.
Despite Riki's swift nimble movements, the jagged spike managed to find its mark, piercing through her with a sickening impact. Time seemed to freeze as Riki gasped, blood spilling from her lips in a gut-wrenching scene.
