"A god is immortal from human turmoil, a god is weak when it fights itself."
That is what Darek's grandmother told him. It was a lesson of the gods, and himself. "It is similar to you. You are strong, but you become weak when you put yourself down, or hate yourself."
Darek, was in an empty black void. He was there for so long, he forgot his own name. It was so long, yet so quick. Falling from heaven takes longer than one realizes. 5 years. he thought to himself. That was his guess. I want to go back home.
Darek woke up. He remembered himself, but forgot everything about the void, as if it was restricted to that realm. He remembered the god though. Even the name. He tried to utter it, but couldn't. His voice felt gone. He looked around, more aware of his surroundings than normal. He saw his Mother, and his Father both impaled from the spikes. He didn't see them move, nor saw breathing. He looked down, and figured out why he could barely speak, and barely breath. He had a spike as well, struck straight through his chest.
He was barely living at all.
But out of spite, he kept breathing. He never stopped. He heard sirens to his left, but no sound was heard from his right. "You think they all died?" "I mean, if they aren't, they'll bleed out soon. The main father who seemed to have it is now dead, so our job here is complete."
"Well, we cant just leave."
"Why cant we? Let local authorities do the rest, we need to get back and find the new heir. Even if the kid was alive, and somehow didn't bleed out, even then, it is an extremely improbable chance of it happening."
"K-kil-yo-urselves." Darek said.
"Well look at that. He is alive. Might as well check." The man walked up to the poor child.
"See, it's fin-" *CRASH*
The man grabbed the child's thumb, and died immediately. He crashed onto the floor, looking like a dried up weed. That is when Darek decided to look down at his birthmark.
Huh. Looks like my birthmark changed too.
Guns drawn in every direction.
"That has to be a 0.001 chance or lower. Out of all them alive, it chose him? That doesn't make sense."
Nobody open fired, it was a spectacle. He was being let live until they choose their course of action. Despite the fact he has the power to subconsciously kill people, they let him live.
Only for a short time, until they eventually got permission to use force.
"FIRE!" A firing squad for a child.
out of the 20 shots, 10 went into his stomach, 5 went to his head, and the other 5 went to other limbs.
He expected to be dead, but somehow, he was alive.
"H...o..w am..I ali..ve?"
"The powers of a monster. Don't shoot his head, trust me, it doesn't work."
"His head is literally empty."
In a confused panic, Darek slides his head off the spike. The spike previously went through his chest and up the right side of his ear.
He looked through the mirror and saw, sure enough.
His head was empty.
I should be dead...
"FIRE!" But before any more bullets hit Darek, he disappeared. Almost as if he evaporated into the sky.
I'm back here. I remember this place again. It seems I will only remember of the void once I enter it. He assumed he died again. Due to his consequences, he believed he broke heaven, and it would never let a single soul in again. But It's not because he's dead. It's because he has lost control of his body.
There must be a way for me to choose when to leave. I refuse to stay here for 5 or more years, or even less. I want to leave now. A door appeared in front of Darek. Dark Purple, and disappearing slowly. He entered.
"You are the kid I've heard about that broke out of the Path of Ruby. Not a single mortal has ever bleed there, and even further, none has ever escaped it." A man, wearing a black and white split jacket, with every other aspect of his clothing matching that theme, was sitting on a throne.
"I am the God of Random Chance, but you can call me Tyc. The way you died was entertaining. Father must've been laughing on his way."
"Father?" Darek asks.
"Our father, the God of Justice."
"I was told he was a descendant of mine not my father. Your "father" Caused my death."
"Hey, you rolled what family you were going to be in, you just got an unlucky one I guess then, huh?"
"Stop talking like your job is such a big one, you literally just watch people pray for things that are already predetermined to happen. You are just the god of watching random chance, not deciding it. It's more of a hobby than a godlike role."
"So and what are you? A mere mortal who thinks he can talk that way to a god?"
I'm a mere mortal that doesn't care about you 'gods.' Every single god I have met so far gives bad impressions, and honestly, you just make it worse." Darek says.
"You seem to just know little of my powers, young Darek. For example, despite how weak or strong I am, I am able to, in a way, 'gamble' to become stronger. I have infinite strength and health if I get lucky enough." Tyc says.
"Now Darek, for the reason I brought you here."
"You are in a bit of a situation, because, I cannot say why, but lets say, your body is out of control. I will only allow you to attempt to control your body if you win a coin flip."
"A coin flip?" Darek says.
"You would be suprised." Tyc shows a board of everyone who has played it with him, and he has only ever lost twice, both to the God of Justice who only ever played him 2 times.
"Ok if it's tails, I win." Darek said.
"3 2 1... And flip!" Tyc exclaims. He throws the coin upwards, catches it, and flips it on the back of his fist.
"Now, do you wish to use the side of the coin facing my palm, or the back of my fist?"
"You choose. I see your game. You know your luck is incredibly larger than most, so you give them a decision besides the basic rule. So if I make you choose, you will have good luck and get that one." Darek says.
"I chose the fist then." Tyc turns the coin towards Darek to show a shiny tails side of the coin.
"Your just like him, it's uncanny." Tyc whispers.
"What?"
"Nothing." Tyc responds.
"Anyways, reenter the dark purple door in front of you. You should be in the void for about a minute, give or take a bit less, then you should reappear home. But one thing."
"Yes?" Darek asks.
"Don't blame me for what happens past this point."
He walks through the door, and spends he would say, 40-50 seconds until he wakes up. Everything in front of him is black, with a few bright dots. He feels like he is falling.
He looks down, and sees a sight he never thought he'd see.
It's the earth, and it looks like Darek's body increased in size.
And it feels like he is plummeting faster towards the earth.
