As Cirris finished the last stitch, he let out a sigh, tying the knot. “That should do it. Your torn muscles should heal on their own.” He said, moving his left wing from the demon. The demon began to protest but soon shut his mouth, knowing he should have been grateful instead.

“Why?” Cirris questioned.

“Well, I uh- I don’t know too many angels, especially ones as nice as you. I suppose… I just want to get to know you.” He stated, his eyes going down to his hands.

Cirris narrowed his eyes slightly, his wings folding neatly against his back.

“Cirris. Nothing else, nothing more.” He said quietly, now standing up. Koberic quickly stood up as well, making the chair scoot back as well as the table. He muttered a curse word under his breath which caused Cirris to breathe in softly to escape a laugh.

“You know,” He started, trying to take the attention off of his big size as he fixed the table. “Cirris is a very unique name, what- what uhm- what kind of angel are you?” He continued, stepping back from me and pushed the chair in.

“A Fire Phoenix, although I have a bit of Jack-o-lantern in me.” Cirris says softly, turning away from Koberic. Cirris walked to the kitchen counter, the tips of his wings dragging a bit on the wooden floor.

“Wow, a Phoenix? Those– erm... You're a rare species of Angel. Most Phoenix’s live up there where it’s warm.” He says, trying to sound more intelligent about Cirris’s origins.

“Well, I wasn’t happy up there,” Cirris replied, opening up a cabinet and taking two black mugs out. “Too many rules, too many questions unanswered. God casted me out, thinking I would go crawling back to him.” He scoffed quietly, rolling his eyes a bit.

Koberic raised his eyebrows in surprise, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “So, you're like one of us?” He asks.
A light chuckle escaped Cirris’s mouth, “You are mistaken, I am nowhere like you or your species. I despise demons, I killed them with my bare hands about a thousand years ago. But now,” He paused, walking over to his sink.

“I have to tolerate them because they are a part of my world and I am a part of theirs.” He replied bluntly, turning on the tap from the sink, filling the two cups.

This confused Koberic, he was a demon, yet this fiery angel aided him. “I am a bit confused…” He muttered as Cirris handed him a cup of water. He took a sip before continuing, “Why did you help me?”
