Where am I? It's so cold and I'm so dizzy. The room reeked of mildew, must and a mixture of cleaning supplies. I can't see anything but darkness and I can't remember anything. I can hear floorboards creaking above me and the clicking and ticking of some sort of clock. Things started to come into focus as I realize the real situation I'm in. My hands were restrained to a metal pole and my legs were bound with rope. I quickly take note of the situation and take in my surroundings. There were two small grimy windows with dead flies in the sills. There was a thin string that hung from a small light bulb in the middle of the ceiling. There were worn out wooden steps that seemed to creak with nobody walking on them. I couldn't see the whole top of the staircase so I hoped there wasn't anyone there anyways. The floor was a dusty gray and the walls were horribly painted, white. I knew not to scream just yet, I watch too many of these movies. I read too many kidnapping books that I'm pretty sure I'll be okay...I hope. I couldn't really scream anyways because of the homemade gag in my mouth. My chest was hurting extremely bad. It felt like a fire burning and it was quite nauseating. I start to quiver and wince a little in pain. This was feeling more torturous than the situation alone. The footsteps above me seemed to get heavier, louder, and closer. Just in that moment I hear the door at the top of the stairs groan open. "Taja?" I hear a man with a low scruffy voice call out. My heart then sinks to my stomach. I don't recognize this man's voice...at all. I see the fronts of black boots advancing slowly down the wooden steps. Once he reaches the last step I could see him fully. He was a very tall, thin man. He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, not a single part of his face shown. "Oh! Good, you're awake." He slurs his words like he's drunk. He walks up to me slowly and kneels in front of me. I still can't see his face but I could smell tobacco and Hennessy on his breath. He reaches for his hood and pulls it back slowly. When I see his face it seemed calm and not the face I was expecting. "It's me, Taja." His face was a pale tan and his eyes were dark brown. He was a little handsome, with a little smirk on his face. But I don't think I've ever seen him before. He had curly brown hair that seemed to fit perfectly, he was a little built in the arms as well.
