Adjusting to the bionics didn't take as long as I thought it would. Utilizing it came naturally, as my father explained it was as if the tech was my own body and I've never gone without it. I could handle more of a beating than before I ever became disabled. I could feel it. The increase in strength and stamina; my reflex's faster than I thought I could ever achieve.54Please respect copyright.PENANAk5zvyaFNbI

That wasn't even the best part of it...
"Try again." I rolled my eyes at my father, "I've done this a million times over already, I don't need to try again."
"Yes. You do. I have to document the capabilities the bionics have given you. And the previous times, all that has happened is sparks at your finger tips. I doubt that's all that you can do now. So, try again. I want to see this room electrified. Or the computers shut down. Something."
I scoffed at him but did as he said anyway. I took a breath, trying to calm my nerves as I felt the electricity around me run through my veins as well. Like the previous attempts, I shut my eyes and I took control of the electricity within, amplifying it. However this time I tried to do so to a much greater effect. Moments later, my body jolted as I forced this newfound power outward. I opened my eyes seeing bright blue arcs of electricity coming from my entire body. The lights, laptops and various surrounding tech to document what was happening suddenly shut down.
Moments later the backup generators kicked in, everything powering back on. My vision grew hazy, and I saw flashes of odd rooms, a person in each strapped to a chair. Few weren't. I blinked a few times, getting rid of the haze. "You okay kiddo?" I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine, no worries. That demonstration good enough?"
"Yes, you did great thank you... I suggest that you keep working on it. It may feel natural but It doesn't mean you have a complete understanding over it. Clear?"
"Crystal. Oh do you mind if I use your office for a bit before I hit the hay?"
He smiled, "not at all. Go ahead and do what you need to. I won't be getting busy in there till tomorrow anyway. It's late, and this man is tired." I chuckled, "go sleep then ya old fart. I'll see you in the morning dad. I love you."
He ruffled my hair, "I love you too kiddo." We parted ways, him heading upstairs, while I stayed in the lab and went for his office, with the bag Id taken with me down here for any notes or files I wanted for myself.
The flashes of what I saw reminded me to much of an investigation I had about a year back. I had received a tip from an anonymous person that there was an underground facility which experimented on fae and humans illegally. No matter what I did, my research and leads always became a deadend. The investigation was then decided to be kept under lock, but wasn't to be dismissed entirely. If something came up that seemed connected to the tip I had received it would be immediately looked into. And that's exactly what I was going to do...
I sat down at my father's desk pressing my thumb to a hidden finger print reader under a drawer. A blue holographic screen appeared before me, an AI speaking.
"Welcome, Mr. Kyrn. What can I help you with today?" Mr? Did I cause the reader to glitch from earlier? "Access Investigation Omega and anything in connection to it."
"One moment please." A few seconds passed, and multiple files appeared on the screen. A couple I recognized, the others however, that was a different story. Most of them were labeled in the phonetic alphabet.

AB3...
And it just kept going till 10 then it would switch to the next letter. I picked a random file to look at, curious as to why I've never seen these before. "Open Romeo RL8."
The file opened, revealing a video and notes under it.
"Play. Keep volume low."
"Playing..."
The video showed a man in a concrete, well lit room, strapped to a chair. A man in a white lab coat walked in then faced the camera. Immediately I recognized him as my father. "Experiment Romeo Lima part 8. Subject has shown progress, though against their will. Body hasn't rejected The Twisted's blood and is slowly adopting it's abilities-" I quickly paused the video looking through the notes. All of it aligned with the information I had... Dad... Why?
It was clear to me I wasn't supposed to know about any of this. I quickly rummaged through my bag for a hard drive. I plugged it into one of the ports and started downloading everything I could. Who else knows of this? Who can I trust?
Minutes passed but it felt like hours. I'm going to have to leave immediately. My investigation didn't turn out with dead ends for no reason. I snatched the hard drive with my bag, logging out and turning off the screen. I quickly made my way to Tarred's room, I didn't bother knocking and walked in then locked the door behind me. Tarred quickly sat up from his bed, groggy.
"Everything alright?"
"Can I trust you?" I watched his face and body language for anything that would set off an alarm in my mind. "Of course. Is everything alright?" He seemed trustworthy enough. I shook my head, "I need to leave. Immediately. Without anyone else knowing." He quickly got up, throwing on a shirt and his boots. He grabbed his pistol and combat knife, strapping them to his side, readying himself. He understood at least somewhat.
"Do you want to get anything from your room?"
I shook my head, "I can't risk it. There's nothing of extreme importance in there anyway."
"Let's move then. I'll get a hold of a pilot friend of mine. We'll leave the estate and head to their runway. We'll act casual but move quickly, not that you need me to tell you that."
I smiled at him, "thank you, Tarred. Dad might still be awake he only went to bed maybe 15-30 minutes ago."
He nodded, grabbing his burner phone and keys, walking to his door, "that's fine. If we run into him we're just taking a walk together and catching up some more. No big deal. We'll get you out quickly and safely." He unlocked his door, and looked around, then motioned me to follow him.
We swiftly made our way through the halls, down the stairs, without any problems. But something felt off to me. We made it through the front door, and made our way towards the large driveway. "What sort of security precautions does dad have in his office?"
"Many, to my knowledge. No one can get into his stuff without his knowing. Even if the system malfunctions it will inevitably reboot and notify the estate."
Fuck. "How long does it take to reboot by itself after a malfunction?"
"Minutes usually. Max of an hour. But I've never actually witnessed it take that long." Shit. SHIT. "We don't have time, run," I said as I booked it towards Tarreds car, him in toe. He quickly unlocked it, and we took off as fast as we could.
As we left he pulled out his burner phone calling his pilot friend. "Hey I need some help."
There was muffled talking from the other end. "As soon as possible. We're on our way and may end up being followed, I'm unsure." As he continued to talk to his friend, sorting out the details, I realized I still had my phone on me. I cursed to myself for forgetting, quickly taking out the sim card and crushing it. I threw it out the window then bent my phone in half and did the same with it. If it's tapped we're fucked if I keep it on me.
Tarred hung up, "we're all set. Hija is preparing his jet and we'll be set to leave once we get there. Do you need to make any calls?" I shook my head, "no. When we land I'll be heading to the HQ and deal with who I need to talk to."
"Alright, understood. Will you tell me what happened?"
I sighed, "Can't. Not yet at least we'll see. Just... Dad isn't who I thought he was."
"Oh... I'm sorry Motome." I shrugged, "It's fine. I'll get over it. Let's just focus on getting back to the US."
"I gotcha, no worries."
"Thank you Tarred."
"Anytime."54Please respect copyright.PENANAJYMDcecJaC
