"General, the nearby demon forces are advancing rapidly across the mountain regions! In the two days we have been monitoring them they almost conquered the entirety of it. They are expected to arrive in three days." reported a soldier.
Before the soldier towered a man, clad in white, knight like armor. He was Ken'o the Sixth Guardian of the Zankoku Empire. Famed for his decisiveness and underhanded strategies he was a force to be reckon with.
"Withdraw most of the forces. This city does not bear any significance to the Empress's plans ." he said in a cold tone.
"One more thing, do it after the population's curfew. I do not want any kinds of complications. If any noble finds us, bribe them and take them with you."
"Understood!" Said the soldier and turned on his heel and left immediately.
I have enough of this place, it reeks of the races. Garrisoning such an insignificant place is a disgrace to a Guardian like me. Once the threat of the Demon King's army gets bigger we finally will have the order to attack and my time will come.
The Zankoku Empire was taking a passive approach. They were building up their military might and fortifying major cities. All this in an effort to calm the populous. The Demon King's armies were finally on the move after 5100 years of silence.
But was it the right choice to let them live?
