Rei grabbed the book and threw it into the fireplace. The book burst into flames, its pages crackling and burning as the symbols and strange writing were consumed by the fire.
"No!" Silas roared, his voice filled with fury. He lunged at Rei, but Kenzo stepped in front of her, his eyes blazing with defiance.
"You won't get away with this!" Kenzo shouted, his voice trembling with rage.
Silas, enraged by the destruction of the book, unleashed a torrent of dark energy, engulfing Kenzo in a wave of shadow and pain. Kenzo screamed, his body contorting as the dark energy ripped through him. Rei watched in horror as her brother was consumed by the darkness, his body collapsing to the floor, lifeless.

He then turned and vanished into the shadows, leaving Rei alone with the body of her brother.

"Kenzo," she whispered, her voice choked with grief. "Why?"
