"YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID THAT TO WEST."
"He does not know how I feel so he should not have said that."
"He does know."
I stared at him. "What?"
"He does know how you feel because he lost himself and his Soulmate."
"He lost himself?" I repeated.
"He was poisoned by liquid mercury and lost himself. He lost his emotions. He lost his memories. He lost his personality. He lost himself. And... He lost his Soulmate, Mary, who poisoned him."
"That doesn't mean he knows how I feel."
"But his response was the same as your response, Weslyn." He hesitated. "He became fixated on Anna when he lost himself. It's the same response."
"The same response?"
There was silence.
"He's right, Weslyn."
I looked at Blayze in surprise.
Right? What was West right about?
"He's right that you're fixated on me because of Liam."
"No... That's not right."
"Weslyn-" he began.
"I love you... Blayze."
"Yes, and I, too, love you, Weslyn."
He sighed.
"But it's different to your love for Liam."
It was true.
My love for Blayze was different to my love for Liam.
"And... That's alright. It's the Curse... You have the Soulmate Curse. You have a bond with me. You have a bond with him. And... You chose him. It's alright that you chose him." He hesitated. "But he's not here... Weslyn. I am here. And, it's because you know, that you are fixated on me. That's wrong... Weslyn. I am not Liam. And you don't love me the way you love Liam. You know that, too, Weslyn. It's not alright for you to be fixated on me because he's not here. "
I didn't know how to respond.
"You need to have the Ceremony."
"Why?"
"You are fixated. You don't allow us to be separated. And... You don't allow me to help the Brown Wolves. You fear that I will die. But not because of your love for me. It's because you are fixated... You are fixated that he and I would have the same fate. But West was right in that I am my own person. We are not the same. We would not have the same fate. You know that... And you are fixated even though you know that. Do you know why?" He paused. "You are fixated on me because you lost Liam. And... you are haunted by him."
"But... I love you."
He watched me from across the room.
"I don't know if I am haunted by Liam but I am not fixated because of him. But... I love you."
He sighed and turned towards the door to leave.
"No!" I screamed. "Blayze! No!"
I hadn't realised what I was doing until I lunged at him and had his arm in my grip.
"No! Blayze... You can't leave me. No! No! No!"
"Stop! Weslyn, you need to stop!"
I flinched and release his arm, from my grip, as his eyes had turned black.
The expression on his face softened.
"I know you love me. But... You feel Liam... His Soul. And... You can't have him. And even though you know that you have convinced yourself that you can replace him with me and became fixated. But enough is enough! Stop! You can't have him. You can't replace him. But... You can send him off. You can be at peace. I can be at peace. He... He can be at peace. Do you not understand? If you were to send him off, then, you would not feel him. You would not be haunted. You could be yourself. You would not have the need to replace him with me. Weslyn, you would be fixated with me, forever, if you do not have the Ceremony." He hesitated. "I know you love me. And if it's true, that you love me, you need to have the Ceremony, Weslyn."
His eyes had returned to brown.
"And if you do not understand that, maybe, it would be for the best, if I did leave you."
"Please... Blayze. You can't leave me. Please..."
"You know I'm right."
He was right.
"I need to go help the Brown Wolves."
"Blayze..."
He turned to look at me.
"I'm sorry, Weslyn, but I have to leave."
I didn't want that. I didn't want him to leave. I didn't want us to be separated.
But there was nothing I could do to stop him.
Because... He was right.
I was fixated.
I had convinced myself that I could replace Liam with Blayze.
And that was wrong of me.
And so, there was nothing I could do to stop him, as he walked through the door and out of the room.22Please respect copyright.PENANAMB0mfH3atW
