Giggling i reached forward to grab at the smoke that snaked between us in the darkness of the car, visible through the lights on buttons and dials of the dashboard.
"I didnt know foxes danced" i uttered in my own world. Ami looked at me through puffed eyes and grinned gleecketly. The smoke foxes pirroetted and leaped, the world felt hazy and just outside of me. We had been driving through deserted back roads for what must have been hours, we were lost. I knew it, Ami knew it. I could admit it. I noticed her hair dance in silver lamp light, as her head snapped back to the road. Her glasses illuiminated, that grin disapeared and her eyes closed tight. She saw the foxes too, but they werent dancing anymore. She swereved and she missed; she missed the fox.
