Somewhere
"Where am I?" The dark brown-haired man groaned as he opened his eyes. His groan became even louder as his entire body ached. He held his chest and managed to sit upright. It was then he noticed the many bandages all over his body.
"What happened to me?" He asked himself again.
He slowly got off the bed and placed his feet on the wooden ground which creaked immediately his legs touched them. He looked around the place and his eyes rested on his sword and dagger, which was kept on a table next to the bed. That were the only things in the room: the bed, the table, and his weapons.
Eryth picked up his sword and dagger and made his way out of the room. With every step he took, he felt a pinching pain all over his body, forcing him to support himself with the sword.
Eryth could feel a burning rage dripping from his left chest down into the pit of his stomach. He felt as if something was missing, something he needed to do but couldn't quite figure out what it was.
As he walked out of the room, he found himself standing atop a balcony on a tall tower that stood in the middle of a village, a village he had never seen before. He could tell the village was on a mountain and it had a few buildings around with people… no, creatures walking around.
Nothing felt right to the young man. Nothing about the village or how he got to where he was at the moment felt right to him, the people especially. A few normal people were walking around but that was where it stopped, "a few"
He saw figures with no specific form moving around the place. Different species of animals stand on their two and walk around like a normal being would have. A… thing that had the body of a human but with a head that continuously switched form also walked around.
"Am I in hell?" Eryth questioned, still not able to comprehend what was before him.
"Some might say that," an old worn-out voice said.
Eryth turned to see a man who looked nothing less than a man in his hundred. The man was short and bald with a long white beard. He wore a robe that covered his entire body. "You shouldn't be carrying a sword in your current state," he stated.
"I'm a warrior, I carry a sword in any condition I find myself, even if it were my limbs that were caught off, as long as I can still wield a sword, I will."
The man held Eryth's stare before extending his hand, signifying for the dark brown-haired man to pass the sword. Eryth gave the old man the sword and the latter slipped it into a scabbard he brought with him before walking back into the room to drop the sword.
"Took weeks to make that scabbard, this place lacks many things," the old man said.
The man rounded the tower with Eryth following behind him. They were still on the tower but now above young men and women who were being trained in the fire elemental act by a fair lady. He tried but Eryth couldn't capture her face.
"I am Monk Zumma. What is your name, boy?"
"My name is Eryth, where exactly am I?"
The old monk glared at Eryth before turning back to the people training. "Eryth, what last memory do you remember?"
Eryth looked up to the sky and hummed. "Well, last night I had a really good time with this Raven woman," he started. "Turned out she was married. When I woke up, her husband was banging on the door. Long story short, he chased me down the street with me wearing nothing on, knocked me out, and…"
"And?"
"And then I'm awake now."
"Where did that happen? Which kingdom?"
"Yeah, it was…" still nothing. "I can't remember anything. It gets even more blurry whenever I try to remember."
"Eryth, you seem to have suffered a loss of memory."
"Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious old man." He leaned on the railing and buried his face in his hands. "What kingdom is this?"
"Judging by the state I found you, I'll say you're not from here," the old monk said. "This is Herimol, the realm of things."
"Where the fuck is even Herimol?"
"Listen, boy, you don't remember where you're from or any important information about your life. Now you walk back into that room and get some rest. Also, see if you can remember some of those manners your parents taught you."
Eryth raised his brows shocked.
"Meet me there when you are done." The monk pointed just next to the trainees before walking away.
Eryth leaned his back on the wall and exhaled. "What in the name of Herylih is happening to me?"
