Being this deep into wolf territory was frightening and exciting for Alina but not for her brother who was stoic as ever as they following the new wolf king’s pack to the palace. It was weird that the king knew they were there but that explained the feeling of being watched from the night before but it also meant that her and her sibling had a little explaining to do about their ability to be awake and walking in the daylight. Alina sghed as they followed the two wolves but she was still uneasy about following them to the wolf palace even though she knew for a fact they had direct orders from King Akira to get them safely there but that didn’t mean they would take them the direct route and that was what frightened her about this whole thing.
“How much longer,” she asked after about an hour of riding behind the two wolf forms. There had been no conversation the entire time not even between her and her brother. One of the wolves shifted at her question and raised an eyebrow at her not saying a word but she guessed the question he was asking. “My ass is killing me,” she said with a small smile. The wolf just shook his head and looked at his companion who had transformed while ALina had been answering the unspoken question. They were both laughing as one of them came over and helped her off her horse to the dismay of both vampires.
Alina looked at the wolves a surprised look on her face and one of the wolves shrugged. “Not all wolves hate vampires. Some of my best friends are vampires,” the gray eyed wolf started as he took the reins of the horse from Alina, “The name is Silver by the way.” he said smiling at her as they started walk alongside each other.
Drewan stared at his sister as she walked beside the wolves and sighed climbing down from his own horse and walking as well. His sister did have a point his ass was hurting as well. “Princess Alina,” he said softly pulling her back to his side and looking at her in the eye. “Be careful,” he whispered softly. He didn’t hate wolves nor distrust them completely but still he is wary of what their mother had sent them into with this mission of helping find a killer. ALina nodded at her brother and kept walking soon seeing the wolf palace loom before them. She turned to the silent, bald wolf and raised an eyebrow in question wondering what his name was.
“Lucas,” he said in response before pushing open the doors and walking inside with the others following close behind. The wolf palace was beautiful yet dark. It called out to LAina in ways she never thought it could; called out to a deep part of her that claimed she was home. But what really called out to ALina was the wolf pacing in front of the throne. He was tall and well built but at the same time lanky with black hair down to the middle of his back; his eyes she had yet to see.
Alina was entranced with him but he had yet to notice any of their entrance but at the same time she believed he knew they were there but was too lost in his musing to actually acknowledge them. Lucas cleared his throat causing the pacing wolf to freeze in his tracks and look up at them. She Could finally see his eyes and she was instantly lost in the deep silver depths even though the silver of his eyes was like iron, cold and hard. Lucas shook his head at the wolf king. “Princess Alina and Prince Drewan like you requested and before you ask no we didn’t encounter any trouble in fact all is quiet,” Lucas said before pulling Silver away and the two wolf escorts disappeared around a corner and were gone.

Akira was frozen to the spot looking at the pair of vampires that had just been introduced by the wolves he had sent out to collect them but he managed not to be entranced for too long. He shook his head to clear it before speaking. “I am King Akira. I am sure your mother has told you what transpired here and that I needed your help,” he said using air quotes around the word needed.
He looked at the pair noticing their differences but more importantly he noticed the small slender figure of Alina standing behind but slightly in front of her brother. “Yes our mother sent us to help find the killer,” Alina said softly as she pushed her brother back because of his silent growling. The man could be so overprotective.
Akira nodded at her acknowledgement of her answer to his question and moved to head to the study by the side of the throne. He waved a hand for them to follow him and they did, warily though.
“They were killed in that throne room so I do not wish to speak in there. And I am pretty sure the scent of blood is still in the air.” He said as he walked over to the desk and sat down.
Alina sat down across from him he noticed while her brother stood just inside the shut door.
“The smell of blood was still in the room yes. And I can understand the main reason you do not wish to be in the room,” ALina said softly wanting to reach out and touch his leg to reassure him but she saw the sharp look her her brother’s face.
“Im glad you do,” Akira said softly before continuing. “I would wish to only travel with one of you as to not make a bigger target for the killer to trace as it has come to my attention that the killings have been happening for quite some time now and that only recently the killer has been bold enough to attack the royal family,” he said softly watching the two vampires for their reactions but none came their faces were as stoic as ever.
“What did you have in mind,” the beauty in front of him said clearly speaking for her and her brother.
“Your brother stay here and protect my sister while you come along with me and find the killer,” he said simply knowing that what he proposed would raise some protest from the silent looming male in the doorway. But he had a reason behind proposing such an idea he wanted to know why he had such a reaction as he had while in wolf form to the admittedly beautiful vampire sitting across from him.
