25 Years Ago... Where It All Began
Everyone was curious about the origins of magic until they discovered something extraordinary: a Devil and an Angel; Nocturnes and Lauren. They were found next to a tree, staring at a bear poised to attack them. Yet, neither bore a single scratch. These were creatures from another world, the people believed. Shock rippled through the crowd when they saw Nocturnes protect Lauren from the people who approached. If anyone came too close, Nocturnes unleashed his power, forcing them to back away. The two were deemed special, appearing to be around three years old... Though they were far older than anyone could have imagined. They possessed unique abilities, ones no human could ever hope to have. Intrigued, humans began to study Angels and Devils, uncovering old legends: Lucifer, a Devil, had once destroyed the world, while an Angel had saved it. But curiosity turned into cruelty. One night, while Nocturnes slept, the humans took Lauren away, leaving Nocturnes alone in the forest. The world began to fear and hate Devils, sending hunters to kill him.
Fianna, a young woman, appeared during this dark time. She claimed she wanted to help Nocturnes take his revenge, and they became close friends. But Fianna betrayed him, leaving to pursue her ambition of becoming a hero. Nocturnes, consumed by loneliness, set out to find Lauren. He discovered that humans had been caring for his brother and even training him to become stronger. However, their greed and arrogance were their undoing; Nocturnes unleashed his wrath, destroying them all. Darkness consumed him as humanity laughed and enjoyed their oblivious lives. It became even worse when Fianna returned as the Queen of Heroes. She poisoned Lauren and lied to Nocturnes, blaming his death on the King of Heroes, Cesare Valerius. In his rage, Nocturnes fell into Fianna's trap. He confronted Cesare and was defeated, his life ending in betrayal and despair.
The Backstory Before the Action
When Corvus was born, the doctors were baffled; there was no magic running through his veins. This anomaly had never been seen before. The doctors tried everything, but nothing could change his condition. Corvus remained weak. His parents, shocked and ashamed, didn't know how to handle him. Worse yet, he couldn't train or fight. Adding to their fear was a strange black tattoo on Corvus's back, inscribed in an ancient language of Angels and Devils. The language was unreadable, its mysteries lost to time, but those who saw it whispered in fear. Unbeknownst to them, the tattoo read Humanity's Hope. The truth was ignored, and a doctor speculated that Corvus was a Devil, urging his parents to get rid of him. Just as they prepared to abandon him, a man in a black suit and hat appeared, warning them to wait until Corvus grew up. Reluctantly, they complied. On the day Corvus was born, another event shook the world: the Queen of Heroes, Fianna, fought the Devil King, Arnold. The battle, far from their village, dominated the news. Fianna emerged victorious, killing Arnold, but the circumstances were strange. It seemed as if Arnold couldn't transform into his full power. It was a narrow victory, one that might have gone differently if not for the intervention of the King of Heroes, Cesare Valerius. Cesare, the strongest human to ever live, arrived moments before Arnold could strike a fatal blow on Fianna. Though Cesare did not fight Arnold directly; he was on his way to the Authorities' headquarters. His brief intervention left Arnold vulnerable. Fianna seized the moment, using a specialized sniper weapon designed exclusively for heroes, and delivered the killing shot. Arnold's body vanished, consumed by the power of the weapon. Humanity celebrated what they believed to be the end of Devils. But Arnold had one final act of defiance. Before his body disappeared, his soul escaped, wandering the earth in search of a successor... a weak vessel to carry on the legacy of Devils and bring ruin to the world.
