It was late one evening. Arthur was lying on his sofa-bed thinking about the gang he recently joined. His daily routine included getting up early, stealing bread from bakery for breakfast, skipping high school, gang assignments, get home with the few dollars he earned and save them for his sister so that she could have a normal life.
So that I could have a normal life.
No how he came by the gang or how he knew weapons and combat is out of my brain's reach. He would never tell. I have tried all the knacks I know to make him spill the beans but looks like its just cereal. No beans at all.
At first, I knew something was wrong. Later, I asked my boyfriend to do a little check on him. Three months. It took that long to find out that he was in a gang.
After pestering him for long, I found out that he himself was in the same gang. It all came to me as a shock. I took weeks to get used to it.
Now, suddenly there were gunmen surrounding our house. I yelped and fell into hysterical sobs. I had no idea what was going on.
I was right in front of the gate - gun pointed at me. I could hear the gunshot. But I felt no pain. No blood. Then I look around to find that it was Arthur who pressed the trigger. I looked down to find deep sea-green, bottomless orbs staring at me. Jeremy. Everything happened in a flash.
"Oh, Jeremy!" I panicked. My boyfriend to the bullet for me. This made me love him even more.
"I am the gangleader. Your brother always struggled for this position but after training last year, I was made the King of the Razors. It was me. Arthur always envied me. I love you Ale-" He choked on his own blood.
I called the paramedics. They were here. But, it was too late. My pathetic excuse of a brother had it all. The fame, the position and the money. But now, I had nothing.
Jeremy, the only one who actually loved me, died for me, a frail and emotionally disturbed woman. And my brother, he was dead to me. I firmly believe that karma will shoot him in his ass so bad that he will die, remembering all things bad he had done.
One year later...773Please respect copyright.PENANAQHkzyaESWD
I sat silently near Jeremy's grave, with little Jeremy in my arms. A year ago when the paramedics arrived, they wanted to make sure I was safe. I puked twice after feeling nauseous.773Please respect copyright.PENANAS9TXOKl0Bx
I thought it happened because of the sight of blood around me. Turned out that I was pregnant. Oh well! Jeremy never got to meet his replica and Jeremy Jr never got a father. As for Arthur, he ran away and never showed his face to me again.773Please respect copyright.PENANAQIe5pea8W9
Seriously, life had its own funny way to make things happen.
