#0 - Prologue
Eliot swallowed everything figuratively and literally. His pride, tears, and saliva.
He raised his pistol and aimed it before his dying friend. His friend shot him a resented look and just cursed under his breath, accepting his fate.
His friend lay there, waiting for death to come with those hopeless, tired eyes that was the first time he saw to that friend.
He couldn't hold back the tears either.
"This is all I have, dude. I need this. I-I'm sorry...This is all I have."
He knew it was wrong, anyway. He entered this dude's organization as a mole and then, he fell for the girl he was dating. Now that everything came into the light, he couldn't let go of the girl.
Obviously, he needs a scapegoat. Someone to sacrifice. And thanked the fate or maybe, it's just a coincidence—He didn't care—the mission to eliminate a board of directors members gave him the perfect opportunity. He double-crossed the guy he opened up for—the guy who accepted him and the idiot who willingly gave the girl he was dating to him.
"This is all I have...P-Please..."
Enduring the pain of the previous wound, his friend laughed bitterly, "Then, shoot me, you damn coward."
He lost it. 615Please respect copyright.PENANALg1YgiPkxX
His hand began shaking—was it conscience? He still has that? Or that his partner just lost hope already and wouldn't plead for his life because of pride? Which one?!
"ELIOT, JUST S-SHOOT ME ALREADY, YOU IDIOT!" His partner roared in pain.
He wavered.
He vehemently shook his head, "T-There has to be a-another way."
His knee collapsed and he dropped his gun.
"I c-can't do it." He lowered his head, slamming the ground.
"Then, I'll do it." A voice alerted them together and without a fraction of a second, a gunshot echoed.
It left his mouth, hanging. The scene destroyed him—the one who shot his partner was...
His partner's body twitched and the gunman shot again.
"W-why?" He asked, bewildered.
"He's the traitor, right? Why would you still hesitate to kill a man who betrayed us and got the mission in jeopardy?" The gun man was Nadja, the girl he fell in love with. The doe-eyed woman said all that without remorse or any emotion in her pale face.
"But, h-head-shots..." He shook his head. He was already dying from his wounds.
"His death was not in vain, Eli. Remember that we killed him for redemption and for the sake of the organization."
Redemption? He stared at his partner's body who received two head-shots from his own ex-girlfriend as those soulless sucks him in.
Nadja picked up his ex-boyfriend's gun, kicked his ex on the knee and uttered, "Jerk and traitor."
"Let's go, Eli. We still have a chance to kill the target." She stretched out her arm to him which he reluctantly reached.
Eli didn't turned back as they ran away.
