I stared down at my hand, ignoring the others in my class around me. The teacher was talking about how everyone had a string and that it's connected to your soulmate, the person you would be with forever. She explained how the strings should look to everyone. Red. The string should be red. But...mine was special.
Mine was blue.
I kept looking at my hand with sadness in my eyes, feeling bad about it. Well, that is until my best friend, Tamara interrupted me and my weird feelings.
"Heya, Sky!" She said, hugging me tightly.
"Hi..." I responded, slipping away from her death grip. She simply smiled and turned back to the teacher. I sighed, looking away from everyone else. Why am I so different? I thought in my head. Why why why-- I don't know, why are you so different?
I heard a voice I didn't recognize inside of my head.
Woah wait what?? You can hear my thoughts?? I don't know, I just heard you thinking so I thought something too! That's crazy...Oh uh, my name is Skylar, what's yours? Tyler. Nice to meet you. This is so weird!! How is this p--
"Skylar? Are you paying attention?" The teacher asked, snapping me out of my 'thoughtful' conversation. (Ha. Puns.)
"Y-Yes ma'm!" I quickly responded.
She looked at me, skeptically. "Then what did I just say?"
"I uh..--"
"Exactly. Now to the office!" She snapped, not giving me an actual chance to answer her question.
I simply nodded and walked out of the classroom while others laughed at me.
Great now i'm in trouble... What happened? You okay? Oh. Right. I forgot you were there. Yeah...Oh uh, I have a question! And that is? Is your string red..?
I froze in shock and stopped in the middle of the school hallway.
Uhm..No, it isn't... Wait is yours blue?! Huh..? What?? Yes..Yes it is!! That's so cool, mine is too! Maybe we're soulmates!! That's amazing! Ah, i'd hug you if I could to be honest.. Same. You hugging me or yourself? Myself :P .....Idiot. Aw come on i'm not THAT stupid.. Pfft...You kinda are Shut up..
I laughed to myself. I think I found my soulmate.....
