they’re looking at you

staring judging

look down they wont see you

sit and cross your arms

over your stomach

form a wall and they wont find you

get a B you'll work at Walmart

thats what your mom says

be anything you want to be

as long as it is good enough for them

be yourself but don't

because they'll dislike you

don't bite your nails it is not

what ladies do

suck in your stomach

stick out your chest

do as you're told

stay in the ivory tower

set your own path

take the road less traveled

like everyone else does

have a lot of friends

you'll look better

you're almost an adult

you can do that on your own

you did it wrong

give them your keys

you're grounded

hide your balled fists

behind your back

stare into their eyes

but do not cry

hold onto the freeing thought

they can not hold you

forever
