Dishes are thrown at the kitchen wall and the floor is filled with shatter glass.
He's drunk again.
A girl cries alone in her room. She hears the voice of a man, who's on the edge. He's cursing and shouting. She hears his footsteps echoing behind her closed door. The weak floor creaks and she feel each step he makes underneath her feet. The footsteps cease and a black apparition blocks the light underneath. Her eyes fixate itself towards the door as its tears stream. The knobs touched and her heart begins to hasten in a faster tempo.
As she hides underneath her bed she could see her doorknob beginning to turn slowly. The door is yanked, but no entry is made. She sighs in relief and the footsteps fade away. She creeps out from under her bed slowly and quietly never did she dare to tear her eyes away from her room door. She stares intensely, fearfully and everything from her arms to her legs begins to tremble uncontrollably.
"Please," she whispers to herself, "please God don't let him hurt me."
Silence fills the room, but not completely. She can hear a rapid thump that is hidden within her bosoms. It thumped louder and louder making it the only sound to be heard.
"Quite", she demanded, "or he'll hear you"
Moments later she begins to feel the floor vibrate from underneath her bared feet, and her ears start to hear the weak floor creak. She stands frozen with wide eyes and a mouth that is slightly opened. She breathes with unsettledness. Her hands begin to shake. Her black un-kept hair covers her face, but she still is able to see clearly through its strains. There is nowhere for her to escape. Her room has no windows and no other doors, but that one and suddenly that door opens.
"NO," she hollers, "DON'T HURT ME.
She runs beneath her bed and a hand reaches for her legs. She kicks it away, but then another hand reaches for her from another end that is closer to her face. She bites it.
"PLEASE," she weeps, "GO AWAY."
Another hand reaches for her and another and another. She's caught, dragged out, and constrained. She screams, crying insanely until she is unable to scream and cry anymore. With tired eyes and a broken voice a hand come towards her.
"Open" a voice, says assertively.
She turns her face away, moving her head from left to right gesturing the word "No."
She looks up at the one who spoke, watching them stand over her in their white coat. She saw others that wore the same exact uniform and they, too, stood over her. "Please," she whispers to them, "Please don't let him hurt me."
