After the pool party, about a few weeks after to be exact, Roman began to text me again. Our texts would get flirty and honestly, I went along with it. Then when it got too far, I would tell him,
"I'm with Adrian. He doesn't deserve a cheater."
And this continued for a while. He'd text, we'd flirt, I'd stop. It would repeat. Then, Adrian texted me.
"I'm sorry but I'm breaking up with you. Its not you its me.." Etc. There was a lot more to that text that I can't remember.
I turned off my phone after replying to him. My hands were shaking and I felt my heart sink. I turned over to the other side of my bed with my face in the pillows and I cried. I stopped abruptly a bit later and locked the door. Then I threw myself on my bed once more and sobbed loudly into my pillow. I just couldn't believe he did it. We were just fine a few days ago!
That was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. And that's saying a lot considering my life isn't the most bright and sunny. He really meant something to me. I honestly thought we would last forever. But this was just a reality check.
In the beginning, he was really nice to me about the breakup and he kept apologizing. Then the week school started back up, he started getting more mean. And telling me it was my fault it happened. I got a text in my first period on the third day of school from him and it was so rude. I was so mad I almost forgot to be sad about it. And that was the day I vowed to myself to not to be sad about that anymore. Then I remembered the messages with Roman, Adrian DID deserve it. He was being such a jerk and I didn't know why. I had done nothing to him.
So I decided to text Roman again, and I wanted him back. Because I started realizing, "Hey, he's actually been here for a while. He hasn't stopped loving me this whole time. He cares." (Him and Analise had broken up)
So after I got over the whole Adrian thing, Roman and I talked. And i started to catch feelings all over again..

Roman eventually asked me out again, and we dated low-key for a while. September 14th to be exact. And so, we didn't tell anyone but my friends, with not knowing, told me Roman was dating some girls, and flirting. But of course, they didn't know why I was so mad over it. Because they didn't even know we were together.
Sometime in October, after the 10th, Natalie's birthday, she had a party the following Saturday. She was turning 13 and the party was at her house.
When everyone got to her house, we talked and played games and all was well. Except, or friends were starting to think something was up between us because we were really close. Especially Analise.
As the sun went down, we started to just lay on the couch and of course, Roman was next to me. Analise was getting really suspicious. But either way, Roman eventually went outside. He was looking really down and my concern grew for him so I followed him out. He was sitting down on the driveway and I sat down next to him. I heard the door open but I didn't really pay attention. I could see Analise's and Aniza's feet under Natalie's Dad's truck and so I stopped talking to Roman.
He was looking up into the stars and I just quietly watched him. Aniza and Analise were watching us I knew.
Roman and I had a pretty deep conversation, and we were literally about to kiss, until Analise walked up to us and sat down next to me. I heard Roman sigh loudly and so I giggled a bit knowing exactly what he was thinking. She took over the deep conversation and thankfully, Natalie's dad came out. He simply said the party was inside so we went back in and sat in the living room again. Everyone was giving us some sus looks. Nothing happened. Sadly.
They didn't know we were dating so I knew I needed to do something about it. When all the boys left, us girls got snacks, and went upstairs only to later come back downstairs and go into the guest room. We talked more and we later got to the subject of me and Roman.
Since Analise and Natalie didn't know, they wanted me to ask him out. I ended up agreeing. And so Analise texted Roman and told him I needed to ask him something. The news spread quickly and it was fine by me because now that everyone knew, he couldn't sneak around and flirt all the time.
I felt relieved knowing I didn't have to hide it anymore from my friends.
