She sat quietly in front of the coffee table ,her eyes seemed to be distracted elsewhere ,she sat there listening closely to the whirring sound of the coffee machine and the hushed bickering of the lovesick couple next to her,her brain seemed to be on a static mode.
She shifted her eyes out towards the glass window,she started drumming her nails delicately on the table as if to get the rhythm of the entire scenario.
Her eyebrows furrowed in frustration and swiftly turned back to glare at the annoying couple who’s bickering had now gotten louder.The emerald eyed boy only cocked his eyebrows with a taunting smirk plastered across his face as of to mock her actions.
”What’s gotten you all riled up?”he asked ,petting his partner’s hand as if to comfort her from the clearly pissed off human being in front of her.
“You two are annoying me right now Ben” she proceeded to jab her fingers in the air towards their direction “Both you and Avis”
”Why,jealous?”He chuckled,giving the brunette infront of him a high five
”No,it’s just all this love in the air is making me sick to my guts,I want to puke”she gestured her hand to her mouth
”I think we all three know that is not the real reason here is it”he pressed on ,waiting for her to give in.
There was a moment of silence until the chirpy female called out “Someone jealousss “she teased .
”Shut up”the female flushed, looking at the other direction.Her eyes desperately looking for another distraction ,but in vain.
It wasn’t hard to notice what’s wrong with her,she was upset,after all who wouldn’t be especially if you were the only one with different eye colours.
No it wasn’t heterochromia .
Its was because she hadn’t found her soulmate.
Of course that was until her best friend snapped her out of her trance.
“No-ova”She stammered lifting her shaky hands to her eyes, unable to contain her glee.
”What?”Nova panicked,she thought something must have happened.
“Did something happen ,did you finally get the concert tickets to see BT-“
”No you IDIOT”Avis interrupted.
”Then?”
”No it’s just your eyes!Its the same colour!!”she squealed ,her boyfriend desperately trying to calm his hyperactive girlfriend.
She quickly pulled out her phone and scanned her face...true enough,both her eyes were now electric blue ....but how?
And most importantly...who?
