To the reader of this note,
The man smiled with his crooked teeth and gave an evil laugh.
"I never thought that it would come to this," he drawled.
I flinched and waited for the steel bar to crack my skull. The warm breeze made me shiver. My heart pounded. I felt really sick- my time was up, or so I thought.
In one of my spy novels, the spy is saved by its secret agency and they all live happily ever after. I wish...
The impact from the steel bar itself didn't take me by surprise, but the pain (or lack of it) did.
"You call that a hit?" I snarled, trying to sound braver than I felt. It didn't fool anybody, least of all myself.
My plan to create a diversion and buy myself some time clearly wasn't working- he whacked me round the shoulder and then round the arm - probably bursting a main artery and leaving me to a slow and pain-filled death. He clearly wasn't happy.
The weird thing is that I used to look up to this evil mastermind. To be fair I didn't know this at the time.
I was part of the secret organisation ZXY. They apparently worked for the government and I took that for granted. I cracked all the codes, but the problem was I was actually stopping the good guys from foiling the bad guys.
It all ended when I cracked my last code. That's when the truth came- I had helped end the world as we know it- I was an evil super villain, who knew way too much.
Shoot... Literally, he shot me. And to clarify, yes I am dead...
But that's where you come in- you need to foil their plan. I don't know how- just do it.
Thanks,
Hannah Lockette
