I checked my watch and saw it was 3:45 now, I had to get going if I wanted to be on time for the young resident. "I have to go Eddie, wish I could stick around longer but work needs to be done." I felt a hand lightly placed on my wrist and I looked over to see that woman, "What time is it?" She asked. "It's 3:46 now." She made an Oh expression and nodded. She stood as well and released her cane, it unraveled and clicked together. "I too have an appointment. Which way are you going?" She asked.245Please respect copyright.PENANA5lgxyxthjg
"Uh, to the police station." She smiled, "Really? I am as well." God, she gave off this warmth and joy like she has not been harmed by this world at all. As if being blind meant she has not witnessed its horrors yet. "What do you need to do at the station?" I asked as I held the door open for her, we started towards the crosswalk.245Please respect copyright.PENANAdLO8XlMDgU
She gave a playful closed lip smile, "I'm secretly a criminal that kills evil beings and I think they called me in because I've been caught." I rolled my eyes at her joke but she just giggled, "Oh haha, really, what's you appointment?" She shrugged, "They just want to question me about my landlord." I stopped in my tracks, after a second she stopped too and turned back toward me with an innocently confused expression. "Chae... as in Chaeyoung Yoo?" She nodded, "Yes, you know my name?"

I sighed and rubbed my forehead. I knew meeting a beautiful young woman appearing all innocent like her had to be too good to be true. But she could possibly have been sleeping with a pariska demon. "I'm Detective Danes." That stupid warm smile graced her lips again as she said, "Ahhh, you're one of the Detectives that wants to talk to me. What a funny coincidence." I don't know if it was because she was blind or because she was just that type of beauty, but all her expressions came off innocent looking.

"Yeah, I guess we can wait till we get to the station to continue this conversation." I said stiffly. Her expression turned confused again as I lightly grabbed her elbow and guided her to the crosswalk. After 5 minutes of silent walking she spoke up, "You know I can walk myself, right? I walk around by myself with no help all the time." She smiled softly, not turning her faced towards me but her head was slightly tilted in my direction as she spoke. "Oh, sorry." I released her elbow and she chuckled, "For a minute there I felt like I was a suspect you were just taking back to the station." Her tone and words were playful, but I currently didn't feel like acting friendly anymore until we got enough information from her.245Please respect copyright.PENANA0xvW0krYaq
Once back at the station, I walked up the short set of stairs and watched as she took slow steps up the stairs. "You sure you don't need help?" I asked. She smiled and shook her head, "No, I'm just not familiar with these stairs." So she's never been to the police station before, so she may not have a criminal record within the city of New York.245Please respect copyright.PENANA377tFuHr30

Once up the steps I led the way to mine and Anders' desks. I would describe what was around her and tell her which direction I was going until I walked up to Anders. "Miss Yoo is here." I stated flatly as I went and sat behind my desk. "Great!" He clapped.
"There is a chair in front of you facing towards your right across from Detective Anders." She reaches out slowly and placed her hand on the arm of the chair. She felt her way around it before sitting down in it. I looked over at Anders who looked stunned and shook his two fingers in front of his own eyes as if to ask if she was blind. I just nodded with folded lips.

"So you remember why we called you here?" He asked while typing something into his phone. "Yes, you wanted to question me about my landlord? Did he do something wrong by chance?" I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and slipped it out. Anders had sent me a text. I shot him a glare and he waved me off. "Uhm, well he's not in any trouble, not anymore. He was killed last night. Were you aware of any of his extracurricular activities?" Chaeyoung blinked a few times, "Oh my god, uh, No. I rarely spoke to him, I would just put my monthly pay in his mailbox and maybe greet him if I ran into him from time to time." Anders shot me another text.
I finally opened it and read them.245Please respect copyright.PENANAf6sSzV1ze7
Anders 🤕: She appears like a prime type for a creepy dude like our Eric Jackson
~~~
Anders 🤕: I take it back, I think she's telling the truth. She wasn't involved with him past Landlord and Tenant.
I rolled my eyes and replied back.245Please respect copyright.PENANAfwSg5Uw5NU
Me: Are you just saying that because she's a pretty face and you're hoping she just wasn't involved?
"Do you know if any of the other tenants interacted with him on a friendlier ground?" He asked while opening my text and then glared at me. "Um, I wouldn't know. I work all week and then maybe visit shops or stay home during the weekends." I decided to jump into the dirty stuff instead of dancing around it like Anders.
"What was your relationship with your landlord?" She turned her head slightly in my direction but didn't quite face me completely. "Like I said, all I did was pay my rent and perhaps greet him once in a while if we ever walked by each other." Her voice was calm and leveled.245Please respect copyright.PENANAM3KXwGJOnb
I started to tap my pen on my desk, "Do you mind disclosing why your rent is $300 cheaper than your neighbors?" I saw a sarcastic smile dawn her lips as she scoffed. "What are you implying?" She asked. "Just answer the question Miss." I demanded. She slowly turned her head the rest of the way and made eye contact with me, which made me flinch.
"My apartment is half the size of the other tenants, I have three rooms. A bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room combined with my kitchen. My neighbors live on the floors bellow me that have apartments taking up the entire floor. The 6th and 7th floor are split into two apartments. I live on the 6th floor."245Please respect copyright.PENANARbl54Q9fh1
I waved my hand in front of her face. No reaction; until she said, "I can see light and shadows, in fact my eyes are very sensitive to light, your desk is in front of a window with the sunlight coming in. I can see your silhouette Detective Danes." So that's why her eyes landed so accurately on my face. I lowered my hand, "I see. Mind if I ask where you were last night?" She tilted her head, "Is this a questioning or an interrogation? I thought I came here to discuss my landlord."
I picked up the file off my desk, "Eric Jackson, Caucasian 36 year old male, found beheaded in an old storage unit. Later concluded that he was the one who killed the 2 men and 1 woman found outside in the ally." I placed the file down and lifted my eyes to meet her wide brown eyes. "Oh my god. W-what?" Anders sneezed really hard to draw my attention and held up his notepad. 'Why the hell are you tell her all this for?' I ignored it and continued on, "Just taking precaution and asking."
She scoffed and adorned a bewildered expression onto her face, "Taking precaution to see if the possibly only blind person that has any connection to him could possibly what? Be the one that killed him? Be an accomplice? Be a witness?" She was trying to make me realize how ridiculous I appeared by asking what I did, but being raised by my father and knowing the shit that I know, there had to be some other demon living in that building with that pariska. Whichever demon it was that gave him that parasite. Even a blind girl is a suspect.245Please respect copyright.PENANAxGNSXobXLR
But I shouldn't make it obvious that I suspect her, because if I'm wrong, she could just be a blind girl...
"I'm sorry, just trying to make sure that if you possibly heard anything at all, then we could gather more evidence to find the one who killed him." She leaned back in her chair, facing back at Anders again. "As far as I'm aware, I don't pass any storage buildings on my way between work and home, and I don't go out at night during the week." I folded my hands and gave a short nod to Anders.245Please respect copyright.PENANAhU0pKiJamU
"Okay, then you may go, come back in anytime if you have more information to share." He said. She nodded lightly and stood up, "Have a good day Detective Anders. Detective Danes." She said firmly then she left, following the same path I directed her coming in while clicking her cane lightly on the floor.
"What the hell was that? Don't tell me you honestly think a blind woman has anything to do with this." He put emphasis on blind and gave me a look like I was crazy. I shrugged and started to type up all my notes into my computer. I deep down hoped she really didn't have anything to do with this shit show.
