EPISODE ONE

{Kayamari and Calari are sitting in the forest, talking about life, when Wakari and his six little brothers run into the clearing and surprise them. It is love at first sight for both Wakari and Kayamari.}
CL: And then she said-
{ There’s a crash behind them. They turn around to see a boy, about their age, and six younger boys, around seven or eight}
CL: Oh, hi, Wakari. {She smiles}
KA: Who’s that, Lari?
CL: He’s one of our family friends. We’ve known each other since we were kids.
W: {shyly} Hi.
KA: {shyly} Hi. I’m Kayamari, but my friends call me Kaya. { She smiles softly}
CL: So, what caused that crash anyways, Wakari? Do you know?
{ One of his brothers steps forward} I did! {Another steps towards him} No, I did! {They start to fight over it, turning into lion cubs as they fight.}
CL: Hey Kaya, why don’t you and Wakari go talk, while I watch his brothers!
KA: Wait, what? { Her face goes red.} B-but why though?
CL: Because you two should get to know each other! And besides, his brothers love me.
KA: Uhhhh-huh. OK. I totally believe you. { She rolls her eyes playfully.} *Whispering and whining* Why are you making me do this?
CL: Because I love you, of course! Now, shut up and go. { She pushes Kayamari towards Wakari and she bumps into him and falls over.}
W: Oh, I’m sorry. Are you OK?
KA: U-um, I’m fine.
W: Here let me help you up. { He extends his hand to help her up, and she takes it.}
KA: { Her blushing greatly intensifies}
W: { Blushing as well}
CL: { Trying to contain her laughter} Everything good, you two?
KA: Yeah, I-I think so.
W: Yeah.
CL: So, Wakari, how was the “date”?
W: Umm, what?
KA: Huh? What do you mean, Lari?
CL: Just joking! Or am I?
KA: I don’t even know what you’re talking about, Lari.
W: She called it a… date. I don’t know why though.
KA: Called what a date? What just happened? ‘Cause that wasn’t by any means a date.
CL: Are you sure? Wakari, Kaya and I are going to Staraan in a few hours. Want to join us?
W: I’ll have to check with my mom, but if she says yes, then sure, I guess.
CL: Great!!
KA: I forgot about that trip. Aren’t we going to Hyrula?
CL: Are we? Why?
KA: I don’t know. I just thought we were going there. Also, I really want to go there. Mom says that’s where I was born.
W: You were born in Hyrula? Cool!
KA: Yeah. Mom says that it’s really big and fancy. I also kind of want to meet King Lorden and Queen Sophie while I’m there.
CL: Oh! We can go there instead! And we could bring Lilith and Rakaar!
KA: Yay! Wait, are you sure that it’s OK if we go there instead?
CL: Of course! Now, let’s find them and then go pack! Rakaar should be at Lilith’s house.
W: I’ll go ask my mom real quick. { He transforms into a wolf and bounds off, with his brothers following behind him.}
KA: Wow, you didn’t tell me he was a Cantamount too, Lari!
CL: I didn’t want to ruin the moment!
KA: It’s ok. I know now. C’mon, let’s go to Lili’s house. {She transforms into a horse, and Calari climbs on and they run off. They reach Lilith’s house in a few minutes, and find Lilith and Rakaar inside baking cookies. }
RL: AHH! Lilith, get the cookies, you know that I can’t handle heat!
LA: Sorry, sorry! I’ve got them. Oh, hi Kaya, hi Lari.
CL: Ooh cookies! { She reaches out towards them.}
LA: { Swatting away Calari’s hand.} Hey, no touching yet. They just came out of the oven. They’re still hot.
CL: So? Just because my sister can’t handle heat doesn’t mean I can’t!
LA: Well I don’t want you to burn yourself!
KA: OK, OK, calm down, guys. We came here to tell you guys to start packing.
RL: Why, Are we going somewhere? Is it Gearmore, because I would love to go!
CL: We’re going to Hyrula. Wakari might be coming with us.
RL: That sounds amazing, sis! I’ve heard it’s beautiful there.
KA: I was born there. Oh, look, here comes Wakari! I wonder if he’s coming. He said his mom would have to approve.
W: {comes through the door, out of breath from running.} She said yes.
CL: Yay! Now you can come with us! Get a move on, you need to start packing.
W: That’s probably a good idea.
{ They all start to bustle around, except for Calari, Wakari, and Kayamari, since they had already packed.}
LA: Need help, Rakaar?
RL: Yes, that’d be nice.
W: I packed when my mom told me I could go. So I’m good.
KA: I packed earlier today. I’m good too. So, Lari, how are we going to get there?
CL: Lili’s brother has a boat. We could take that.
LA: Actually, Loran and Lysander are using the boat this week with Mom and Dad to go visit their friends in Lunakice. Sorry. Maybe Kayamari could turn into a big animal and we could ride on her back to get there?
W: Wait, are you a Cantamount?
KA: Yeah, I know you’re one too, since I saw you transform earlier today.
W: Oh.
LA: There’s a town by the coast. I think they rent out boats.
KA: That would be easier than trying to carry all of you and trying to keep you from falling into the water. How many diems are they?
LA: Thirteen diems to rent, twenty to buy.
CL: I have thirty diems, so we could just buy one.
LA: Ok, thank you, Calari.
CL: You’re welcome. Now, come on, or we’ll be late! It’s a while away. Kaya, can you turn into a horse so we can ride on your back?
W: I can help too.
LA: Ok, thanks, Wakari.
{They head off, and arrive within about twenty minutes}
LA: Hello, we would like to purchase a boat.
Shopkeeper: That will be 20 diems, please. { Calari puts the money on the counter} Thank you. Enjoy your trip. May I ask where you’re headed?
RL: Hyrula.
Shopkeeper: Oh, please be safe. The water between here and Hyrula is covered in Arachnean ships.
KA: Why?
Shopkeeper: I’m afraid that the Arachnean Empress Arabella has set her mind on taking over all the countries of our world. Nobody quite knows why, though. Some say she’s lost her mind, others say she’s just evil. I personally think she just wants a better place for her people. Her queendom has fallen into ruin, and the woman is under a lot of pressure.
{All of the friends exchange glances.}
CL: Well, thank you for warning us. We will be careful. Take care.
{They leave and head towards the boats, which are very large and they find one that’s ready to go. They set out to sea, hoping that they won’t run into any Arachnean ships on their way to Hyrula.}
