Annabelle was not ready to leave. She wasn’t ready to have to take care of herself. She was nervous and felt pressured… to be… better. Or more mature? She was in her room packing because she had to go. She had to leave the orphanage, where most of her memories, good and bad were made. Soon 15 year old Jake, 9 year old Nathan, and 5 year old Alyssa came into her room. They wanted to wish her well because they didn’t know when they would see her again. Would they ever? They didn’t know that neither did Annabelle. After all the kids had a little talk Annebelle soon got really anxious. She started breathing really hard and the fastest she ever had. She didn’t know what was happening but then the room just faded away. She started to panic. But as soon as she tried to grab on Alyssa the kids faded away into thin air. Now it was just Annabelle and her bed. She screamed. She wanted someone to come back. Soon her wish had been answered. Jake just came back. “You’re back,” Annabelle stated. Jake replied with the simple response “I know.” Annabelle asked if he was okay. He stated ”I know” once more. She didn’t think it was him, but who else could it be. “Who are you?” Annabelle asked. “I’m Jake from State Farm '' Annabelle asked once again and got the same silly response. She kept asking hoping this was some silly prank. Like, a going away prank. He kept answering with “I’m Jake from State Farm” while moving closer and closer. Then all of a sudden a pill bottle appeared in his hand. Like magic? “You remember this?” Jake asked. Then he forced the whole bottle of pills down her throat. Annabelle felt hopeless. She felt like she was stuck and couldn’t move. She fell on the bed. She felt terrible not sick but terrible. Then Jake disappeared. Annabelle wondered how her “friend” could do this to her and just disappear. She was laying on the floor crying. Then, Alyssa appeared. Annabelle got off the floor and hugged Alyssa. Then, Alyssa said "I can fix this." She then pushed Annabelle on the bed. Then a knife appeared in her small little hand. She then proceeded to slice open Annabelle's stomach. She pulled out every single pill for 5 minutes until Annabelle was able to yell. "Want me to stop, Annabelle?" Alyssa said. Then she twisted the knife blade to face her. Then stabbed herself 10 times. She fell to the ground and faded away. Annabelle was heartbroken. Then Nathan came. He was holding a med kit. He was silent. He just walked to the bed and started stitching her up. Then he accidentally stabbed her in her lung. "It's okay Nathan," Annabelle said. Then he gave her a hug and faded away. All of a sudden the room started fading away. Then faded back. And this happened 5 more times. Until this time the hospital faded back. "Whatever you saw was not real. You were having a panic attack, and you have schizophrenia. " the doctor stated. "Let's go through your life history and then I want you to compare what you saw to your records," the doctor said. Annabelle found out that at 5 she was abused and her parents would cut her and tell her that they were doing her a favor. Just like Alyssa with the knife. At 9 she was adopted by scientists. They would do experiments on her and sometimes they would not put her on medication to make her fall asleep. And so she stayed awake during the procedures and that's why Nathan knew exactly what to do with the medical kit. And at the age of 15 she attempted to commit suicide using pain pills. But when she woke up in the hospital afterwards the first thing she heard was "I'm Jake from Statefarm" because of the tv. She finally realized what was happening. She was holding on to the past.
