"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you th----" he stops and says, "Jamie? Is that you?"
I look up to see two perfectly shaped greenish eyes that I would recognize anywhere.
"Hey, Matthew, I didn't expect to see you here." I say awkwardly
"Hey, have you talked to Elena lately? I haven't talked to her in awhile."
"Uh, no, I haven't heard from her for awhile either" I lie to him
"Oh, well if you talk to her, tell her I say hey."
"Will do" I am hoping at this point he will walk away... buuuut..... he doesn't.
We get everything picked back up, luckily, somehow, the tomato's are okay.
"What have you been up to? I haven't seen you around lately." he say to me.
"Oh nothing much, uhh, can you help me find the cumin" I figure I will take advantage of his familiarity with the new setup of the grocery store.
"Yeah, for sure." he leads me about halfway down the seasonings isle and reaches up to the top shelf, I wouldn't have reached it, even if I did find it.
"Thanks" I smile

"Hey, you live pretty far from here, would you like some help carrying this home?" he asks me
As much as I wanted to say no, I knew I needed the help. "Sure."
We get to my house and Matthew comes inside.
"Jamie, is that you honey?" I hear my mum shout from the Kitchen.
"Yeah mom" I reply, kicking the door shut behind me.
We walk into the kitchen and set the stuff on the counter. My mum starts saying something and turns around, she jumps, startled by seeing another person in the house.
"Oh, why hello, Matthew, I haven't seen you in awhile." My mum says, smiling at him.
"Hello, Mrs. Munez, it's nice to see you, I bumped into Jamie at the store and couldn't let her carry all this home by herself." he says to my mother
"Would you like to stay for dinner?" My mum asks.
"Oh, that wont be necessary, my father is expecting me, thank you though."
we talk a little bit then he heads out. It has been alomst two hours now since Elena texted me, so I text her back

I eat dinner with my mum, we don't talk much, just sit there and eat in silence. When I am done I say
"Thank you mama, dinner was delicious, I am going to take a shower, do you have to use the bathroom?"
"No, thank you for asking"
I run the water and fill up the tub, I took a shower this morning and haven't been out much today, so I am not dirty, I just needed time to think.
I hop in the tub and just sit there, the warm heating my body. I close my eyes and sink into the water, fully submerged underneath. Everything is so peaceful, so relaxing, it's all so quiet down here. I don't know how long I was under the water before my mum came knocking on the door.
I quickly sit up and inhale
"Jamie, is everything okay in there?"
I check my phone and see that I was under the water for 10 minutes.
"yeah, I'm fine mom" I reply, shocked at this.
I rinse off my body, dry off, get dressed, and down to my room.
I read Pride and Prejudice until I fall asleep.
