11/12/2021 Rainy
It rained today morning, so I thought it was a great day to go on the rooftop. Just as I took both of my shoes off, there was a girl short as can be, sitting on the fence. Despite myself, I went and screamed.
The girl jumped off the fence, stepped back onto the ground. I noticed that her hair was messy and the length was uneven.
“Hey, what’s bothering you? Is there anything I can help?”
“You’ve probably heard it all before… It’s already an old story…”
This petite girl told me woes, that she was bullied. Her classmates just teased her from time to time at the very beginning. But it turned worse and worse as time goes on. They stole her things, or in the reverse way. They put their own belongings in her desk, in her locker, and accused her as a thief. They would even pull her into a dark, shady alley at evening, made her kneel down and slapped her. Everyone started to ignore her, no matter how loud she shouted or waved her hands in a way that even short-sighted people can see her without putting on their glasses. The other day, when she walked in the classroom, and shocked by the fact that there was a vase with a bunch of lilies inside.
“They… they really wish me to die? Seems that I don’t fit in with anyone here”
At lunchtime, she was dragged out of the classroom by the little group formed by the most popular girls in class, all the way through the corridor and finally stop at the backyard of the school.
“Huh… I thought you already know what we meant… Are you that stupid that you can’ even understand the message that we want you to leave, better off dead!” The girl growled at her, “Maybe we should give this dumb midget a punishment that she can understand us huh? Just look at this wavy long shiny hair, how ‘bout we cut them off? This must be an excellent punishment for those who cannot listen to others’ word properly!” Just after this sentence, the famous girl took out a pair of sharp scissors, snipped off the petite girl’s beautiful hair, left the girl alone and walked away. She then collapsed on the floor, cried but controlled herself not to make any sound. She did not want anyone to notice and come back again.
Just as she finished her story, raindrops started falling off from the dark sky. It got both of us soaked, and we sat on the staircase, continued our conversation.
“For god’s sake please! Are you serious? Just because of some stupid reasons you came up here before me?”, I thought. But I didn’t let myself say what I really thought. “Even if your classmates do not like you or even hate you, you are still loved by your family! You know there’s always dinner waiting on the table you know, right?”, instead I used my softest voice to comfort her.
“I’m hungry,” she stood up as she shed a tear. Then this petite girl disappeared, only left behind a puddle of water at where she sat.

And like that, there was someone every day, I listened to their tale and made them turn away. And yet there was no one who would do this for me, no way I could let out all this pain…
