Yako Kozima's POV
Aaron is leading the way to our destination while I am trailing behind him. I could see the boy he was when I first met him in the library and I wonder how he become this. As I look closer, I could see that his posture represent sadness and pain. I feel the urge to rub his hair and let him cry on my shoulder but I just couldn't. Suddenly Aaron stop in his tracks and I bump into him.
"Sorry." He say and stretches out his hand for me to take it. I take his hand and haul myself up, silently thanking him as I do so. I look up at his eyes and blush, seeing that his face is too close to me. He blushes as well and turn away from my line of gaze and ask the others if they are alright. "Stupid Yako!" I scold myself mentally as I watch Aaron, silently reminding myself to ask him of his past after he left the academy later. I watch as the others say that they are okay and take out my medical supply that I keep in my bag. I put some ointment on my wounds and drape a strip of cloth around it to form a bandage.
As I do that I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn to see Amelia and she put a finger to her lips, signaling for me to be quiet. I nod and she tells Aaron that she will be back after a few minutes because she want to talk with me. He nods, confused as Amelia drags me behind a tree and pushes me gently to the tree.
"What were you thinking? I could tell by the look in your eyes that you want to ask Aaron about something." I tell her that I want to know about Aaron's past and she sighs, rubbing her hair with her left hand. I could tell she is hiding something as well, something about Aaron's past right after he left the academy.
"He will tell you when he is ready but for now, stay away from this topic." I nod and she smiles at me thankfully. She immediately pull me back towards our team members and we all nod as it is time to go to Faenya.
------------ten minutes later---------------------
"We made it!" Amelia exclaims and Aaron nod, smiling at her. His smile immediately turn into a scowl as he race to the place where he feel that something is wrong. When we manage to catch up, we stare at the person in front of Aaron in horror as he kills a random elf female. We look at Aaron and I catch his eyes. I could see that his eyes is darkening as it is holding up deep anger that swirls like the sea inside of him. I am just stunned about the feelings Aaron is showing until I feel a gust of air as something swish past me. I watch in horror as the figure come closer to me and lift his sword above his head ready to slice my head into two. I close my eyes as the figure tries to cut me down but another figure step in front of me and block the attack. I look up to see Aaron blocking the attack with his sword and yelling at me to run.
"Aaron. It's been so long since I've last seen you, you betrayer." the figure greets Aaron in an angry tone as Aaron manages to block the figure's blows in the blink of an eye. "Number Five." Aaron spat as he circle the figure calmly whilst his eyes are showing disgust and barely restrained anger. " I know that we will meet eventually. Number One told me." Aaron look at the man called Number Five and block Number Five's blow again with unseen speed.
"Oh? Where is he now?" Aaron ask casually, flipping his sword in the air and catching it with ease. I frown, my head spinning from my thoughts about what Aaron had said in there. What are they talking about? Who is Number One? How does Aaron know Number One? Why did Number Five say that Aaron is a betrayer? I look behind me and see that the others except Amelia and Hikaru also have the same bewiled look as I have, staring at Aaron in shock. I feel a hand on my shoulder and look at the person who puts it, it is Aaron.
"Yako, please stay with the rest. I need to take care of this filth." He spat the last two words viciously as he pushes me towards the others and run at lightning speed towards Number Five. I look at Aaron in awe at the skill he display while fighting against Number Five. Aaron blocks as Number Five attacks but suddenly he shifts, planting his foot on the ground and tackle Number Five to the floor. Aaron walks towards Number Five and lifting his sword to do the finishing blow before Number Five laughs heartily.
"Oh? You think you can kill me? You are nothing but a pathetic, good for nothing brat." Aaron growls and plunge the sword straight into Number Five's heart. Suddenly, I hear clapping sound from behind Aaron.
"Bravo Aaron. I knew that you can do it." I could feel Aaron tense and say the words I never expect him to say.
