"Luna, we don't even sleep how could we personally run out of time today? Or any day?" Jason laughed as he waited for me to buckle my seatbelt so he could take me to our surprise date night.
I shook my head.
"Because, sleeping and traffic have nothing in common" I laughed at him.
"Can't you tell me where we're going come on" I whined.
"Of course not, it wouldn't be a surprise if I did."
My dreams had been more recently just revolving around some of my favorite days with Jason, and I couldn't help but feel like it was the only way to attempt at getting through things. As soon as I started drifting my hand through the air from the window of the car a voice that didn't belong started coming through.
"Luna. . . Luna what did he do to her? She has to be alive there's no way she'd die, but how am I down here? Why are we down here?"
Zadicus's voice suddenly caused me to be ripped out of my dreaming state and I sat up clenching my hand around- I blinked looking at Rickey's hand around my wrist.
"Did you hear him too?"
He looked at me setting my hand down after kissing the back of it.
I nodded slowly.
"I figured that grab wasn't meant for me- you think he's awake? Why else would I hear him?"
I quickly got out of bed and went to the closet to quickly change my clothes.
"I don't know, but I don't like that no one came to tell us- I need to get down there"
"We need to get down there" he interrupted and I turned around to see him dressed.
We quickly rushed are way down to the sub levels and I quickly put in the code to the door. I could yell at the guards later if he was up I needed to know why and what the Hell finally happened. As the door started opening I heard the yells from inside the room and a splash of water.
"You want answers?! I don't think you understand who the fuck is chained up right now" Jarred's voice shouted and I rushed in.
I looked around the room as I saw Joshua placing a bucket down against the wall as he made eye contact with me and I could tell he knew he was in trouble as he gritted his teeth. I then noticed Jarred facing a soaked Zadicus. I finally noticed the poor condition of what he was wearing, they were slightly burned and covered in his blood and he was dangling by the chains with his head down. Zadicus was quietly laying down farther away than the last time I had been down here. It appeared that he was sleeping- or at least trying.
"Jarred!" I shouted as I yanked him back walking him into the wall.
"Luna?" I heard Zadicus's weak voice rasp as the chains chimed as he attempt to pick up his head.
"What? I deserve to know things too!"
"Jarred. . . I am behind you on this one hundred percent. . . I think we should let her and Rickey figure some of it out first alright?" Joshua said behind me calmly as Jarred nostrils flared in anger his eyes were pitch black.
"Fine. . ." he muttered and he moved passed me quickly.
"I'll notify Alexander to be down here when we leave" Joshua said before following quickly.
Rickey stayed silent as he stared at Zadicus his eyes looked like a sudden black abyss.
"I don't think I've ever felt so weak. . . how long have I been down here?" Zadicus's voice was still raspy.
I marched over to him and wrapped my hand around his throat as I lifted him up as much as the chains would allow. His grey eyes looked hazy, the little they showed his pupils were blown his eyes were more red than anything.
"What did you do?!" I shouted and the words came out more as a growl that anything.
He winced.
"I could ask you the same thing about why he's down here- or here at all"
He coughed and there was a sudden raddling of chains behind me. I figured he was referring to Rickey and if he even thought about laying a finger on him I'd do everything in my power to subdue him. Instead though. . . he was looking behind me at Kaiden.
"We aren't talking about Kaiden right now, we're talking about first off why you were out longer than me, and why you were out at all"
He opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it. When he looked at Rickey.
"Good you're here. . ."
Was he really sounding genuine? He had to be trying to play it off. I released him and quickly shoved my hand through his chest feeling his ribs scrape across my hand as I found my hand stroking against his lung and he gasped for air his eyes wide.
"Don't you dare fucking think about hurting him!" I snapped and his eyes widened with fear.
"Luna. . . I- I don't understand" he rasped between gasps of air as he struggled against me.
"Don't play dumb, you know damn well what you did to our boyfriend!" Rickey finally broke his silence.
I tried to hide my shock. Rickey never called Jason that. I could ask him about that later though.
"I- everything is spinning. . ." Zadicus's eyes suddenly rolled into the back of his head.
"Don't you fucking dare!" I yanked my hand out taking his organ with me and tossed it behind me and I heard Zadicus huff and let out a low growl.
Zadicus remained still and completely limp.
"Love, you sure ripping out an organ when he's this weak when you're interrogating him is such a good idea?" Rickey spoke softly now.
I shook my head as Zadicus pulled against the chains as he let out a gasp of air as he yelped in pain.
Leave us.
I whispered into Rickey's thoughts without looking back at him. I wiped my hand on Zadicus's shirt as he jerked away from me.
"You did the bond with him. . ." Zadicus looked up with me.
"That's none of your business- Rickey go" I snapped, but I heard no movement.
"She'll be fine, you have my word" Kaiden's voice purred behind me.
"Thank you. . ." Rickey said quietly and then made his way out.
I looked back at Kaiden who's eyes were now open as one of his clawed feet moved the lung away from him with a growl of annoyance.
"How long has he been up?" I glanced back at Zadicus.
"Jarred was maybe down here for ten or so minutes. . . maybe a tad longer, I assume he's having the same problems you were when you woke up."
"Did you die with me?" Zadicus whispered.
I laughed.
"God I hope not, I broke my blood promise with good ol' Kaiden here after you decided to leave my husband's corpse outside"
He squinted at me as if he were confused.
"Wait. . . you also made a promise with- wait. . ." he shook his head slowly as if he hardly had the energy.
"What did you you say his name was?" he asked as he glanced back over to Kaiden.
"I don't really think his name matters. I'm down here to talk about why you suddenly killed my husband." I snapped growing tired of his distractions.
"Well you asked why I was out. . . I was out because I also broke a blood promise with Janus"
I shook my head.
"This is Ka-"
"I don't care what he told you his name was, his name is Janus" Zadicus cut me off.
"I could say the same to you Ares." Kaiden growled.
"Okay so- whatever his name is, what promise did you break?" I interrupted the obvious fight that was going to start and honestly I didn't want to get a breath of fire at me.
"I took away your choice. . . somewhat unintentionally might I add" Zadicus cleared his throat.
"Can I please get some water so I can at least talk easier?" he choked out.
As much as I hated to show him any sympathy I also didn't want to drag this on. So I grabbed the bucket and noticed the small amount of water still in the bucket and brought it to him.
"Lift your head up."
I snapped.
"I remember caring for you much more nicer when you came to me without limbs. . ." he muttered as he tilted his head up.
I snorted as I poured the small amount of water into his my and he swallowed and I walked back over putting the bucket back.
"You let him care for you?" Kaiden let out a low chuckle.
"You've had your water now talk."
I ignored the question Kaiden asked and looked impatiently back at Zadicus.
"Luna, may I offer some advice?" Kaiden interrupted again and my head looked back at him and I glared at him.
"He's confused as it is, maybe you should give him a little of your side of the story- maybe it's just me but he looks like he's questioning his sanity and I don't think you'd want that"
"Maybe it's the dragon in the room"
I quipped.
"I mean I will admit, his presence is intimidating at times. . . I understand that you're upset, but believe it or not I thought I was doing something in your best interest- I took a gamble with breaking my blood promise I was so confident. . . I didn't even know if it could kill me truth be told. I've been telling you for forever, Jason wasn't like us."
I searched for any sense of him lying. There was a surprising amount of calmness in the air. . . I could tell he was still in pain, but aside from that he was nervous. Now he was a good liar- but was he that good? He had openly admitted a lot of things the past few months leading up to then. . . which is why the sudden shift surprised me.
"What choice did you take from me? You took my choice of being human years ago" I stepped closer to him now, but then I stopped and turned on my heels looking at Kaiden now.
"You never told me you made a promise with him. . . Why?"
I had been so focused on my anger. Getting the reason as to why, and maybe even figuring out how to undo what had happened I completely ignored the fact that Kaiden had hidden a big secret from me. There were so many things going on right now too many questions and feelings to sort out in the heat of the moment. . . I had rushed down here without a plan.
"You didn't ask too much about our time together. I didn't see how it was important."
He responded calmly.
Though it seemed short. . .
"Why did you call him something else just a while ago?" I watched him carefully now his yellow eyes were almost burning into me as he watched me the same. Clearly he wasn't over how he ended up here. He also still had his own negative emotions.
"You should be asking him about what I showed you. Don't you think?" he countered.
I shook my head.
"None of this matters- I came down here to find out why Jason was killed and how I can get him back."
Focus Luna, focus.
I did a mental deep breath.
"Bring him back? Why?" Zadicus seemed shocked now.
"What the fuck do you mean why?"
"I- I just thought. . . maybe you didn't know how to deal with getting rid of him- being how infatuated you are with Rickey I figured I'd make it easier and make you not have to-"
"You what?"
"Luna, what I said was genuine- I know it's hard to understand, I. . . when I met Jason that day I hadn't planned on killing him."
He breathed out a shaky breath now and he winced and I assumed he was trying to hold back his pain. For once I stayed quiet letting him explain.
"I had him running reports for me on you, that day he told me he was done. He refused to do it any longer, you and Rickey were going to get married that was it he was done being a pigeon- but I could tell he was hiding something about that. . . then it all becomes a blur and suddenly I snapped when we were fighting and I just ripped off his head"
"You dismembered him? You disgusting vile creature" Kaiden growled.
Zadicus let out a laugh, but it seemed more of an uncomfortable laugh than a victory laugh.
"Oh so you were a fan huh? Well, you can see how well that ended for me" Zadicus glanced at his chains before his body started to shake and he went limp, but this time he was conscious as he hissed in pain.
"Anyway, so the older the blood promise the worse the death is- you and I can't die. . . so I guess that's why I'm still like this" he finished.
"You should have had the effects of this then that night you turned me."
I stated shaking my head in disbelief.
"Am I right Kaiden?" I turned back to him.
"You're always starting violence Ares, death, war all in your path- you always had" Kaiden's gaze shifted.
"It's been half a millennia and you still can't remember. . ." Zadicus muttered.
I looked at him puzzled.
"Who are you-"
"You want to know why you can't remember most of your childhood before Jason? It's because once you felt you were done making everything, you decided you wanted to be the very thing you loved creating most."
He cut me off, but then he lifted his head up as much as he could to look me in the eye.
"Ananke."
I laughed, now he was calling me other names?
Okay, there was no way this wasn't planned- or at least that Zadicus was insane now. Maybe that could work in my favor too though.
"Luna what is the earliest thing you can remember. . . I know it was long ago- you blocked most of the pain out but I need you to dig deep."
Zadicus tried to change the subject.
I was conflicted on who to listen to, they were talking about each other in ways I didn't know the other. . . they had other names? Did they come up with this plan when Zadicus woke up? To shake me? I swallowed as I thought about the options.
Sure, it wasn't going to probably be pleasant, but hopefully me doing this small request would give me answers. I closed my eyes for a minute trying to think back.
"We heard the stories- our daughter she- she something is wrong with her my Lord she bites me till I bleed and tries to drink that over any milk I give her- the priest said she wasn't possessed. . . is she like you?" my mother's voice filled my ears and I could see a dim light as I watched the shadows on the wall.
"Something like that. . . I will bind her to me, it should help" Zadicus spoke, but I couldn't see him.
Suddenly I felt my back against the cold wall ass my eyes fluttered open. I was suddenly back by the door out of the room as Kaiden watched me carefully and Zadicus remained looking at me for an answer.
"You don't remember do you?" he pressed.
"You sound insane- you know you sound insane- I know you talk and talk about us being gods and all, but seriously?" I shook my head.
"This is bad even for you." I admitted.
It was pathetic, I mean was he this desperate?
"So what are you saying? I was so in love with you I came down here myself?"
"I know this is a lot, but I'm trying-"
"To escape, I know deceiving is what you do best. You had me somewhat fooled I will admit, and you are making one Hell of a mess back home"
I cut him off.
"When you want to tell the truth call me down."
I didn't have time for this. I had to deal with Jarred, maybe he even had a solution to pulling out the truth. I ripped out his lung for fucks sake.
"Luna- I'm sorry, but Joshua insisted he had everything handled I thought he meant-"
I shook my head at Alexander as he followed me upstairs.
"I'm not upset with you. . . I might have been in the moment, but I understand Jarred's reaction too."
When we reached the main floor Jarred, Rickey and Joshua were gathered in front of the elevator.
"So what did the bastard say?" Jarred quickly move to in front of me.
"Jarred let her breathe I know we all want to know, but she has to process things . . " Rickey said softly as he looked at me with worry.
I frowned.
"Regrettably, he seems to be going crazy- or him and Kaiden came up with a plan before we came down there-"
"The only thing he said- or asked rather when the sensor went off and I watched the footage is why Janus was here? Well- rather he nearly jumped if it weren't for the chains and freaked out about it before losing all his strength almost instantly" Jarred cut me off shaking his head of the same confusion I was dealing with.
"Are we talking about Janus as in the God Janus or what?" I blinked for a minute realizing the familiar voice and my eyes finally found Seth who was drinking a beer.
"Oh hey- umm. . . I- what?"
Getting used to the new information Jarred dumped on me a few nights ago still hadn't fully settled in, but it seemed now that I knew Seth was more than comfortable stopping by whenever.
"Janus, you know the Roman God of Choice? Doorways. . . stuff like that?" he took a sip of beer.
I shook my head.
"I really don't think that was the point here" Rickey added.
Then I got an idea.
"Seth?" I looked up at him now and I stepped towards him.
"Yes?" he straightened himself against the wall crossing his arms.
"Are you going to try and kill me again?" he chuckled and I shook my head.
"No, but does that offer still stand?" I asked.
"I love you Luna I do- but I don't think sex is the-"
"No the other offer of your specialty help" I cut Rickey off as I waved my hand at him.
"Oh? Who do you want dead? What do you need?" he perked up now and he gave me a mischievous smile.
"I don't know if Zadicus is playing a game, or if he's actually insane that he thinks he's Ares, and Kaiden is well Janus I guess, and he called me. . . something else. . ." I trailed off trying to remember.
Something with an A. . .
"I mean talk about having a God complex, but he lowered himself?" Seth chuckled.
"Dude, I hope you know I think you're the only one who knows anything about this shit" Rickey commented.
"I guess it doesn't matter right now-"
"Ananke that's what he called me!" I cut him off as I remembered.
His brows furrowed as he looked at me.
"What?"
"Nothing, what is it you need me to do?"
I was curious to learn more- maybe be able to get inside his head more and flip this plan on him or something. . . anything.
"I need you to torture information out of him- the truth rather, if he's insane, he's insane- maybe we can still pull information out of him once we find out how his brain is working- I already ripped out a lung and he didn't change his story at all, so I have nothing if you could fill me in on some information on those three when your done I'd appreciate it"
He nodded.
"Why Seth though?" Alexander spoke up. He almost sounded offended and I could completely understand why.
"Listen everyone will have their fair chance at using him as a punching bag- but, Seth looks like Jarred. . . if they swap out-"
"Can't he sense the difference like you?" Rickey questioned.
"In this state? I doubt it. . . besides he hasn't spent enough time with Jarred since the night he killed Vera- for all he could know that's why his presence has changed, or he'll just think he's going crazier?" I shrugged.
Jarred looked at Seth and bit his bottom lip and sighed.
"Can you do it?" he finally asked.
Seth snorted.
"Are you serious? I've killed whole families without any questions, you're giving me the chance for some personal vengeance torture?"
Seth licked his lips before giving Jarred a sinister grin then at me.
"Sign me up"
"I'll go down with him. . . we'll come find you afterwards."
Alexander cleared his throat stepping forward.
"Aww Josh, looks like you gotta sit this one out" Seth frowned.
"Don't fuck around Diavol" Jarred warned Seth.
Seth waved him off as he stepped into the elevator with Alexander and I shook my head walking past them all in the hallway.
"Where you going, Love?" I felt a rush of air as Rickey suddenly flashed beside me.
"Office for my special stash of blood- then probably the study; you guys may as well follow" I looked back at Jarred and Joshua as they talked amongst themselves.
"Special stash?" Rickey questioned as I opened the door and walked over to the mini fridge pulling out a bag of blood and a glass and started my way to the study.
"It's Jason's. What's left of it anyway. . ." I mumbled the last part.
"Luna. . . you know you can drink from me too right?. . . like if you need more I can just do what he did kind of thing" he offered.
It dawned on me I could be hurting his feelings right now. I felt bad about that. . . it was just the one way I could feel still kind of close to him. Going to his grave every day surely wasn't helping.
"I. . . I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings- and thank you" I opened the door to the study and walked through.
"No- I'm fine I'm just trying to- well hey there Erin. . ." Rickey stopped himself and I looked around the room to find Erin in the corner reading a book with a cup of tea and she smiled.
Joshua and Jarred were across from her standing.
"Maybe we should move this conversation Luna. . ." Jarred started
"Why is everything okay?" Erin's eyes fixated on me.
"I. . . Erin do you mind leaving for a bit?"
She shook her head.
"Of course not- do what you need to do" she stood up grabbing the book.
"Jarred" I marched over to him scolding him.
"Luna look-"
"No, you listen to me- I understand you want to know what happened to your brother and so do I, but we had no idea how easy it would be for him to break out; he could have killed you"
"He could barely move- I could see that on the cam-"
"I don't want to lose anyone else okay?" I swallowed.
I cleared my throat and turned to Joshua.
His face looked torn suddenly.
"Joshua- you knew better than to let him down there" I said sternly.
He dropped his head and nodded.
"You know I would never let that happen, look I couldn't just sit back and not want to question him either okay?"
I felt a pair of strong hands on my shoulders suddenly and a small squeeze.
"I think we all want the same thing. . . maybe none of us had the right reaction, but everyone meant well"
Rickey spoke calmly.
Jarred's jaw tensed before he sighed.
"I'm sorry. . . it was selfish of me, and I certainly don't have the clearance anymore to do what I did either. . ."
I shook my head.
"I promise I will find out. . . do you think Seth will make progress tonight?"
He let out a small chuckle as he walked over to the chair Erin was in and sat down.
"Trust me, if there's anyone better at torture than you it's him."
"I walked in on him once, he was putting nails into a guy's kneecaps" Rickey muttered walking over to stand next to Jarred.
"What do we think Zadicus's angle is on this right now?" Joshua spoke up.
We all looked at each other.
"I really don't know . . ." I confessed and walked over to one of the small side tables and poured the contents out of the bag into my glass.
"There is one thing that he said that made sense though. . ."
"What was it?" Jarred perked up.
"He said he broke a blood promise he made with Kaiden. . . and that's why he's been out"
"Joshua how did you find Zadicus again?" Jarred questioned.
"We found him by the back door on the steps. . . I heard him groaning in pain when everything was going down- but when I finally got to him he was out cold"
"Luna what happened when you broke your promise?" Jarred shifted his gaze to me.
"My head started to throb. . . I lost my vision, my body shook uncontrollably. . . My promise wasn't that old though- not compared to Zadicus's. . . they met around when I was a baby- maybe a few years before even I don't know, but at least five hundred odd some years. . ."
I trailed off as I thought about it for a moment. . .
"He must've thought he could push through it. . . it would have been a slower death after all because it was a stronger one. . . that's assuming he didn't vampire run back here, if he did he probably was still blind sided. He still seems to be going through it."
"How did you even know he was awake?" Jarred suddenly questioned.
"I- I didn't think about blocking him out while he was knocked out as much. . . it's hard to explain but-"
"I didn't even think about the fact that I had to block him out- I knew about Jason but Zadicus completely slipped-" Rickey cut in trying to help me out.
"Fuck, who knows how long he was swimming through your heads. . ." Jarred mumbled before letting out a frustrated groan rubbing his face right before his phone rang and he swore under his breath answering his phone.
"In the study. . ." he mumbled tossing his phone on the table.
"Who was that?" Joshua looked over at Jarred and pulled up a chair.
"Baby, we said sleepover at my place remember? I made dinner and everything"
The door suddenly creaked open as Jeff's voice filtered through.
"Oh, you're that kind of busy" he continued as he looked at all of us.
I shook my head.
"It's fine Jeff. . . between Rickey and Jarred being involved it'd be horrible to leave you out of this anyway. . ."
I sighed taking a sip of the cool liquid.
"I thought he was out now?" Jeff looked at his brother now a little irritated.
"I- umm. . . Luna?" Rickey looked over to me with a look that said 'help me'.
"He is, but things have come up. . . Zadicus is awake, it's best if we all work together to find out what happened to Jason"
Suddenly Jeff was wrapped around Jarred sitting in his lap.
"Are you okay? Did you find anything out?"
I never really got to see them interact like this, and I had to admit it was absolutely adorable seeing Jarred like this. I almost let out a small giggle looking at them.
"No. . . I uh, was quickly kicked out- Seth is working on him though" Jarred placed a kiss on Jeff's cheek wrapping his arms back around him.
"Mm, so we're in for a long night huh?" Jeff laughed.
"I thought he said it would be quick?" I interrupted.
"Oh Seth is very effective, I just mean how he is after" Jeff seemed un-phased he continued to try and get Jarred's attention.
"He usually goes to a club or something. . . wherever he is after he's always got a party going as a celebration" Joshua huffed shaking his head.
"Luna how are you feeling?" Jeff turned his head around to look at me.
"What do you mean?"
He frowned before rolling his eyes.
"You know what I mean. . . come on we're all friends and or family here."
Rickey looked at me.
"Okay would be a lie. . . but good also seems like a lie given all the other events of this week, thank you for asking" I gave him a weak smile and he nodded.
"You know Jeff, I appreciate what you do for Jarred- I know you and I aren't exactly close, but I can see how happy you make him"
He smiled then looked back to Jarred.
"I could really say the same thing to you, you played the second biggest player I know" he chuckled looking over at Rickey.
Rickey snorted.
"Luna I need to have a word with you" Seth said as he knocked on the door.
I set down my glass on the table.
"Excuse me for a moment. . ." I walked out of the room and was suddenly hit by the strong scent of blood and I looked at Seth's bloodied arms.
"What's up? How'd it go?" I looked up at him to meet his blackened eyes as he wiped his hands on a cloth.
"Well. . . he's sticking to his story, though I realized he's going to eventually start talking about your origin story with my questions. . . I just needed to make sure what I know is right- otherwise he'll think something is off"
He patted his pockets for a moment after and he sighed.
"Fuck I'm out. . ." he muttered.
"Out of? What did you hear?"
"Hold on a sec- Jarred I need you to come out here" Seth banged on the door quickly.
"I know he turned you- somewhat against your will, I heard it was because of a prophecy, though it never said who's. . . anyway, so he took you to start your lives together- to start both of your lines, but well obviously you turned Jason- I don't know the finer details on that though, and I do believe that's something his own brother would know- no?"
Seth spoke quickly and his eyes snapped to the doorway when it opened.
"What's up?"
Seth didn't speak he just yanked Jarred to him and he dipped his head down to latch his mouth on his neck and my eyes widened.
"Umm- Seth what are you"
I was interrupted by a groan of- I shook my head not wanting to really know what kind of groan that was coming from Jarred I didn't want to think on it honestly.
"Seth ease up for fucks sake" Jarred hissed holding the back of Seth's neck as he continued to feed off him and he did his best to tilt his head to look at me.
"The way he keeps his scent is from feeding off me. . . normally he just carries a couple of vials around with him"
My jaw nearly dropped.
"So you just let him feed off you?" I blinked as I watched him wince.
"Sometimes- like I said normally he has a stash" he grumbled as he pulled himself away.
"Sorry, I don't want my process interrupted. What's wrong you enjoy that too much?" Seth laughed as he swiped his tongue over Jarred's neck and I looked away clearing my throat.
"Sorry about that Luna- anyway where were we?" Seth turned to me licking his lips.
Jarred dismissed himself and went back into the study.
"It happened at Jarred's wedding, I'm sure he mentioned something about it no?"
Seth nodded.
"Now that you mention it yes- anything else?"
I looked at him confused.
"What are you getting at, really?"
"I asked him how he killed your husband, being that you both were supposed to be completely immortal and he laughed. . . and had said he already told you that you and him weren't the same as him"
His reddened eyes were now watching me.
"Yes, he's been making suggestions and a lot of threats for forever. . . I never asked really, when I tried to dig into my origin- or the prophecy rather more recently he'd turn me down, only gave me little pieces"
I sighed rubbing my forehead closing my eyes.
"What has he been telling you?"
"I can sleep, turns out I can control you all a lot more than I realized- but he wouldn't ever tell me things I really needed to know- you said you would tell me more about those names"
I changed the subject.
"Mm, yes- well Janus is the Roman God of doorways, beginnings and ends- a cross over helper. . . many things, but most of all he is the God of choice, the left or right path if you will"
He paused leaning against the wall now.
"Ares well, he's a Greek God instead- bringer of war- some say the spirit of violence. Lastly, Ananke was the Greek Godess of force, persuasion, and compulsion- things like that"
"Why would he spindle lies together like that? Mix cultures and everything?" I looked at him even more puzzled now shaking my head.
"That's what doesn't make sense. . . even on Kaiden's end, I mean they could have chosen Greek or Roman, but they went with both?" Seth stopped leaning on the wall and stood up straight.
"I'm not sure, but lets get back down there. . ."
We walked to the elevator and took it down when I suddenly felt a little light headed and my vision flickered and I felt myself fall back slightly.
"Luna?"
I felt an arm steady me as I shook my head as Seth moved me forward as the elevator came to a stop.
"Everything alright?"
"Yeah. . . fine, just a rough stop" I lied.
He looked at me for a moment, but he then brushed it off as the door opened and we made our way down the hall.
"Back so soon? Can we at least move me so I can get a decent nap?" Kaiden's voice bellowed as the door slowly opened.
"Later, I'm going to need you for this." Seth responded as we walked in and I was hit with the stench of strong cinnamon like blood scent and my nose twitched.
I looked over to Zadicus who's clothes were now very ripped and stained with more blood than before, and a bucket of blood in front of him just barely out of reach.
"Just had to step out for a moment for a snack" Seth quipped pulling a chair from the doorway and dragged it over to sit in front of Zadicus and he looked at him with the same wicked grin he gave me earlier.
"Must be nice. . . I've told you everything you wanted to know" Zadicus muttered.
"Except see that's the thing. . . you're trying to spin it like she created you suddenly, now see that just doesn't make sense the way she's been telling it all these years"
Seth got closer now.
"She doesn't remember, I don't know why- I've been trying to figure it out for years, that's what you don't understand" Zadicus shook his head weakly.
"It's a little hard to believe such a crazy thing when I grew up with her." Seth got up and stepped towards Zadicus as he grabbed a knife from his pocket and shoved it into his shoulder.
"I can only imagine how difficult it is to understand- if it weren't for her giving me the plan before she came- Hell even then I would have thought it was all crazy-"
"How could I give you a plan when I wasn't born yet?" I countered.
"You weren't down here on Earth."
He said slowly and Seth twisted the blade into his shoulder and Zadicus winced as he sucked in a breath. He was really stuck on this story.
"Stop lying! I need to know everything so I can bring him back" I shouted.
"I- how would I know how to bring him back? Luna you gave me this life not the other way around- I bound myself to you yes, but-"
"While I was a baby! Why?" I pressed growing irritated and Seth could pick up on that because he grabbed another knife and plunged it into his side.
I found myself growling angrily as I looked at him and Zadicus went stiff and so did Seth for a moment.
"Because you told me to, you can control my body all you want- look inside my head for all I care, take my blood it's the damn truth what you should be asking yourself is why you can't remember-"
"Here's the other problem with your story here bud, if you're claiming you three are who you are- Chaos would have been the one to create it all right? So how would the Godess of compulsion create something? She wouldn't have that kind of power"
Seth cut him off.
My head suddenly throbbed again my vision getting hazy and I tried to roll it off as I brushed my hand across Seth's shoulder to release my hold on him that he was clearly feeling judging by his stiffened posture.
"You aren't in love with her romantically at all. . . are you Ares?" Kaiden's voice suddenly purred behind me and I looked at him confused.
"Why would you-"
"No. . . no I will admit it took me quite some time to figure out how I felt"
"Would it make you that happy? To be able to create your own things? I promise it becomes boring, though you are stunning and perfection, but these other things. . . they took time and practice"
A voice I couldn't quiet place flooded into my head as my vision got splotchy.
"Janus a little help here please. . ." Zadicus murmured.
"If what you're saying is true, why don't I sense her?" Kaiden quipped.
"Take our blood- Janus can show you things right? Mix it with mine and think about it all and I bet you'll be able to see- it's a big guess, but why would I want you to take my blood if I really wanted to escape right now?"
"You wouldn't die anyways" I scoffed.
"Yes, but I feel bad enough as it is, far from comfortable but I'm willing"
He wasn't wrong. The chains held him up just enough that he wasn't able to kneel or quiet stand he was just suspended. Though I knew the affects Kaiden's blood had on me. . . It was risky. I stayed silent for a moment.
"Luna you realize if you do this. . . you will have to restart again." Kaiden spoke as if he were reading my mind.
