Each morning on my way to work,

The radio comes on.

The news is read, then they play songs

And the weather is told to be wet.

But when all that is said and done,

And the anchor goes to break,

I hear that irate advert play

And grate my soul again.

"Your list of things to do,

It's always chock-a-block," it states.

As if to mock the massive pile

Of shit that's on my plate.

"There's the things from yesterday

That you need to do today,"

"And the things today you'll probably

Put off until tomorrow" It says.

But then as if to purposely

Destroy what appeal it weilds,

The voice continues on

With something completely left-field.

"But don't put off saving

On your car insurance" it squeals.

No one that has ever breathed

Has spoken so unnaturally.

From here the advert proceeds

To get more fake and sour,

As the narrator spews T's&C's

At a million miles an hour.

And I sit frowning in the passenger seat

Waiting what feels like years,

For the next abysmal ad to start

And violate my ears.
