Walking down the road Lenna walked past some dark alleyways. Glancing around the boy made sure he was alone before stopping in his tracks and pulling out his phone from his backpack. It was kinda dark outside, despite it only being around 6 pm.
Once he wrapped his headphones around his ears Lenna began to slouch slightly as he scrolled through his spotify. Clicking onto some songs he then began to listen to the music.
But as he was walking the boy swore he heard faint yelling in the background. But he simply shrugged it off. It was most likely just his song and his brain must be playing tricks on him.
The yelling got louder and closer to Lenna. Freezing the boy then looked behind him, his eyes wide.
There was a man, around fifty years old. (although he looked like he was eighty, due to all his wrinkles and the overall look of him) but he was chasing after a massive german shepherd, which Lenna assumed was his dog that somehow managed to get loose.
“Get out of the damn way you stupid kid!” the boney, old grandpa ordered.
Wasting no time Lenna bolted down the sidewalk. The dog was now following Lenna, his tongue lodged out of his mouth as the german shepherd let out loud, angry barks. Lenna knew that if this dog caught him the outcome wasn't going to be pretty.
As he was running Lenna sighed as he approached a large group of people clustered together. Running in between the group Lenna watched as a few of the ladies there gasped.
“How rude! What do you think you're doing, young man?” One of the older ladies questioned.
Lenna, of course, didn't reply. The massive dog following him said more than he could.
Leaping over a trash-can Lenna then got his leg stuck and quickly threw the trash all over the ground as he kept running. Sniffing the trash the dog then kept running after the kid.
Lenna’s legs were burning and felt like they were going to explode. The steaming, hot sun beamed off his clothing as he slowly lifted up his legs before placing them back onto the ground. A thin layer of sweat covered the nape of Lenna’s neck. But he wiped it off and forced himself to keep walking.
Adrenaline coursed through Lenna’s veins as he glanced behind him and saw that the dog was slowly getting closer and closer to him. Speeding up Lenna forced himself to go as fast as he could. Keeping his breath steady he went harder and faster.
His breath came in short, little gasps. Lenna urged for some sort of liquid right now. Preferably water. But he was so tired that anything would do.
As he darted past buildings, people and trees Lenna soon stepped over a pile of golden-brown leaves, slowly crunching and scattering them across the sidewalks. His shoes also heavily pounded against the ground, which made splatters of mud slowly cover his legs. .
Lenna was running so fast that he was surprised to see that the dog was around a foot away from him. He urged himself to slow down and take a break. But Lenna knew that if he stopped to take a breath that the dog would shred him to pieces instantly.
Heaving for air Lenna’s eyes widened as the dog caught up to him and tried to snap at him. Lenna kicked backwards and kept walking. As he was walking he soon approached a park. He wasnt watching where he was going and soon a large fountain of water stood in between him. Glancing back he saw that the dog was closing in on him. He would have to jump over the fountain. Lenna knew that what he was going to do was pretty stupid but the boy had no other choice. If he tried to go around the fountain then that risked the dog catching up to Lenna.
