Since it is Pride month, I figure this fits...381Please respect copyright.PENANA94kOUh8FBh
How well do you know yourself? If you stop to think, that is completely normal compared to when trying to describe your friend or a person you know.
Knowing about yourself has nothing to do with being selfish, and in some places, you are allowed to be selfish and put yourself first over others. You are important too.381Please respect copyright.PENANABZ2dh8zg9Y
Figuring life is a journey with its ups and downs like a rollercoaster, sometimes facing these things alone and others with people near and dear to you. Some challenges in life are best handled when you know yourself aside from what you are up against. Knowing your opponent is a good strategy, but knowing yourself will provide further opportunities and advantages. If set right, you may have some tricks up your sleeve or face these challenges easily.381Please respect copyright.PENANA0OYCdt5pXg
You will learn about yourself for life because you move on, progress and change as it is in nature. You are not the same person you were as a five-year-old. Some changes creep in slowly, and others can be drastic, going nearly from one night to the next.
We are all different; hence, individuals have unique strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes and quirks. Please don't compare yourself with someone; having an idol to look up to is alright, but in the end, follow your heart and be yourself. Of course, all is easier said than done, but baby steps are the key. Give yourself time, listen to yourself or talk with someone you trust. Thinking out loud to yourself is healthy and not crazy despite what others say. Talk to a mirror, record your thoughts or write them and see where they may lead.
Have you heard the quote, "To know the future you need to know the past." Make sense to you? It's ok if it doesn't, and scratching the back of your head. I'll give you a different quote that I hope is less abstract for you to follow; Have you ever heard that when building a house, you first need the foundation before the roof, don't start with the roof. Now place the future as the roof and your past as the house's foundation. Do you follow? Life has its simple moments, but the complicated ones keep you on your toes, and you learn to cherish the simpler moments of your desire. Hence with the past, don't let it weigh you down from your regrets; they are lessons you learnt and the best part, life goes on. A chance for you to make it better, to change, to improve and to become. Hell, I have some regrets in my bag and embarrassing moments, but I don't let them stop me from doing things I want to do, and sometimes keep doing crazy things because life is short.381Please respect copyright.PENANASCa6bX3k1u
I learned all that over the years and am still learning as life is changing. It's ok to be scared, but remember there are many things you can take into your hands, and others are to be taken with faith. If religion gives you comfort for the things beyond you, go ahead; others use art or other forms of creativity to shake the fear or do sports or meditation. Whatever speaks to you.
I'm a bit of a tough nut and even try to make my own luck however I can. I don't rely on miracles, I do believe in them, but they always come with an element of surprise, so yeah. The same can be said of love and speaking of love when in a relationship you learn not only about your partner but also more about yourself.
Last year I realized why I have been so hard on myself. Because of my perfectionism aspect, I am eager to learn and grow, and I know it will impact my future. I've now kicked my perfectionism to the curb on many things. For a long time, I never sketched pictures and one night, I wanted to draw my character from one of my stories to plan it better and think to draw and give the flip to perfection. I only draw for myself here, and before I knew it, I drew something cool and unexpected. I thought the artistic talent had left me many moons ago.381Please respect copyright.PENANAxEvv5SdVCr
Being a perfectionist has its perks, but just be careful where you put it to use and remember, in the end, nothing's perfect. Not even nature is perfect, and yet it ticks and adjusts. You will be fine.381Please respect copyright.PENANANEEKFmezjd
The same can be said for your identity and gender. I only figured it out through my wonderful partner that I am non-binary (but I prefer to call it freestyle since I dislike labels). All those years, I've tried so hard to fit into society what they define as a woman. Now I face society in the eye and say I don't care. With that, I can even love the body I previously felt insecure with. Of course, belly fat and such will still be a struggle but so harsh as before.381Please respect copyright.PENANAxacXXiU0GA
For all people struggling with their identity, please remember to maintain respect for yourself and others for a better world. At the end of the day, we are all humans.
Fun fact, there were tribes where the people were non-binary, gay, etc., seen as people with special powers and could become shamans or more if they wanted.
If you need some fun and supporting LGBTQ, below is a link I can recommend.
Love & Peace to you all, lovelies!381Please respect copyright.PENANAU1CA2xp7Ae
