Questions.

According to the oddly specific clock, it was a few days later. The physicians asked me a lot of questions, and I knew the answers to all of them. "Where was the last place you were heading before you blacked out?" was one of the strange things they asked me. "Why?" I replied, referring to my work. They pretended I wouldn't recall anything! Worse, they didn't believe me when I informed them that before anything happened, I noticed two males standing near my workplace, and I blacked out. "You swerved into the opposite lane and collided with another vehicle. However, you were the lucky one; the other person in the crash does not have the best chance of survival." No, it wasn't conceivable, my eyes widened. I couldn't possibly kill someone! It happened by chance! But it's still my fault...
I was in the hospital for almost two weeks, which seemed like an eternity to me. I was unable to drive after being released from the hospital, and my driver's license was revoked. I had to arrange for someone to come pick me up. Only one of my friends was available to pick me up. They came over, but they appeared to be terrified of me. "What's the matter?" If you seem any more terrified, you'll most likely transform into a ghost!" I was being snarky. They exchanged a brief chuckle before driving away.
When they pulled to the side, we were almost home. "The males," she says. Do you notice them? "How long has it been since you last saw them?" She stated it in an oddly calm tone.168Please respect copyright.PENANANT0eXpILng
"Why were there so many queries about two and a half weeks ago?" She didn't respond to my query at first, merely letting out a long sigh, before saying, almost too quietly to hear,168Please respect copyright.PENANAuAZqw4x44h
"They're called 'the Walk-Arounds.'" They wreak devastation on anybody who sees them, since they prefer to be unknown by civilization. "Have you seen them before, and where did you see them?" When she started asking questions again, she raised her voice. 168Please respect copyright.PENANAYqA0Na0tBo
"Uh, I first saw them outside my bedroom window, then I saw them next to my work." I've only seen them on those occasions." I said, suspiciously glancing at her.168Please respect copyright.PENANAijJqX2uUzY
"You get me? Don't sleep in your room." Also, avoid looking out your windows." Before I could respond, she started the car and we were again on our way.
When we arrived at my place, I was a whirlwind of questions. What were the 'Walk-Arounds,' and who were they? Why did they choose me as a target? Why do they choose to remain hidden from society? What is the reason for this? I had no idea, and I doubt I'd ever figure it out. My brain was still buzzing with questions as I sighed. I raised my head and proceeded to the door. I'm not sure why, but she seemed to think 'the Walk-Arounds' were after me because I noticed them. How did she know I'd seen them, and how did she know it was the 'Walk-Arounds,' was a question I knew I needed answered. I considered this question for a moment before deciding to ask her the next time I saw them. I walked inside after opening my door.
I nearly immediately headed to my room to sleep down as soon as I got through the door. I froze at the entrance, turned around, and walked over to the couch, where I sat down. Surprisingly, despite all of the questions racing through my mind, I fell asleep almost quickly.
I awakened somewhere dark and unknown, not at my house. I sought for a source of light but couldn't find any. I shouted a few times, hoping that someone, or anything, would respond, but nothing happened. I attempted to stroll about, but the lack of light made it appear as though I was going nowhere. After a time, I noticed a faint glimmer and dashed over to it. I kept running. But it appeared to be quicker no matter how fast I ran. I eventually fell when I heard a crack.
I woke up.
