Chapter 3
Where Am I?
In a cold sweat, I awoke. But the scariest part was that I couldn't move. I fought under my covers, feeling as if I were being restrained and unable to move. I glanced about for anything I might use to aid myself, and then I noticed one, no, two, flashing spots on my nightstand. I went completely still. The two dots gradually transformed into figures, and then another figure appeared. Outside my window, I noticed two individuals. They muttered something that I couldn't hear, but it was clear that they were saying something. They were jittery, even afraid. They gave me a couple glances while kept mumbling. They continued to mumble, and the last thing I heard them say was, "Leave the house!"

The last meeting with the two figures took place a few days ago. I've coined the term "the" to describe them. I reasoned that if they were going to keep showing up at my residence, they should have a name. They've been appearing on the edge of my vision since the last encounter, but when I maintain staring in that direction, they're gone. I assumed I was just being paranoid. My friend keeps dropping by to see how I'm doing, as if she thinks I'll disappear one day and she won't know unless she comes to my house. But something has changed; they now just appear at my house; I never see them when I leave. I've previously gone to work and several other locations and found nothing. There were no dark figures, no flashing spots, and nothing else. This was probably a good thing, but it felt strange not having them observe me. I've been observed by these two for so long that it seems strange not to have their gaze fixed on me. Something else is wrong; no one is paying attention to me.
I'll try to chat to a few folks, but they all walk away as if I'm a ghost. I'm not sure what's wrong, but I'm thinking it's simply paranoia. I went about my business as usual. Everything went as planned; I went to work and then home. Then I sensed someone's presence, but it was almost like a ghost. I assumed it was simply the Walk Arounds and went about my business, but this was different.
It had a strange vibe about it, almost threatening, and it exuded a 'bully-like' attitude. I kept glancing around because I could hear murmuring, but no one was nearby. I believed I was simply being paranoid, but the voices had a vocal tone to them, unlike the usual paranoid voices, which were monotonous. Some voices whispered softly, scarcely audible, while others yelled loudly, nearly loud enough for me to comprehend but still too soft.
