Alejandra briefly explained to Luna what the evolutionary history of the Lunestics looked like, but it was never brought into great detai in the book. Here is what he told her.
Before they inhabited the other star systems, the Lunestics, Islanders and Carlites inhabited Afrödos (what the Gaitians now call Venus). Afrödos used to be a planet full of life just like its sister planet, Gaia. Back then, the inhabitants of Afrödos were peaceful beings— beings who made great advances in mathematics and science in the galactic federation.194Please respect copyright.PENANAAeOIyFgmrJ
Afrödos' sister planet, Gaia, was also flourishing with different fauna and flora, but no intelligent life. So, the head scientists of the empire of Afrödos got to work by injecting their DNA into some of the pregnant animals to build up new sentience on Gaia, but nothing was successful. They ran one last test and injected their DNA into some apes and found that that was the missing link they were looking for. So, they continued using apes as their specimens until they became intelligent, ie. using and creating their own tools and even discovering how to light a fire. This is where the Afrodites backed off and tended to their own planetary affairs; they would come back later to see how the apes adapted.194Please respect copyright.PENANAgaiahqQU1v
Meanwhile on Afrödos, there was major political disagreement taking place. Some did not like the idea of experimenting on the apes, while others thought it was a major advancement in technology. After a while, a civil war broke out between the two sides and ended up using nuclear warfare. 194Please respect copyright.PENANAVdaKnD3WdY
After sending the planet into nuclear fallout, the Afrodites had to make a decision on where to go next. The winners of the war decided to send the losers to Gaia without any of their technology, thinking they would just die off from natural selection. The winners then fled to other star systems, to make sure their species still survived.194Please respect copyright.PENANAwVl6J3xAN0
The first group fled to a star system that was centered with a white dwarf star. The planet they chose was dark and barren, but with the help of technology and terraforming, they were able to make the planet habitable. For two hundred years, they had to wear space suits outdoors because of the lack of an atmosphere. After they terraformed the planet and fixed up the planet to where it would have a decent atmosphere, they were able to go outdoors without the spacesuits and oxygen tanks. However, it always stayed dark there; only lighting up one week a year. They named this planet Lunestica, meaning "The Planet of Eternal Night."194Please respect copyright.PENANAyPpT4dLDYl
The second group fled to a star system that had two stars orbiting around each other. That made their planet's seasons and days strange to where there would always be at least one sun illuminating the sky at all times, and having a short night spanning around three hours .During the day, the two suns would join each other in the sky. Meanwhile, the planet had no moon, so with their anti-gravity technology they brought with them from Afrödos, they made an artificial moon so their oceans would rise and fall with tides. However, this would be their downfall decades later when their moon grew in size after a meteor struck it. Because of the moon's growth, it made the sea level rise, and a great flood happened on the planet. They quickly acted by sticking their anti-gravity devices in the ground around their houses and buildings to make them float in the sky to avoid the waters. While the ground below was now an extensive ocean, they resided in the sky on artificial islands. They named the planet A'cielinsulariä, meaning "Floating Islands in the Sky".194Please respect copyright.PENANABSriRoKnyf
The third group headed to a singular star system similar to the Haelio system they once lived. The planet they chose to live on was almost just like Afrödos before the fallout in almost every way shape or form, except for the more extensive forests and tall trees. They started building their homes in the trees, and used their own tech to befriend animals and translate their cries. This made their communication with their pet dragons from Afrödos much easier, and they were able to domesticate them easier. Doing this, the animals taught them how to live off of the land instead of destroying it, thus made them develop a pacifistic nature. They named this planet Carlisle, which did not have a meaning itself since they named the planet after that troop's late captain; therefore Carlisle was nicknamed "The Forest Empire" because of the abundance of flora.194Please respect copyright.PENANACHGfr8O9ol
Meanwhile on Gaia, the Afrödites who were ejected were struggling to survive without their tech and weapons, and had to improvise by making primitive weapons like the experiments they made were making. Some of the Afrödites died off from disease or just natural selection, but the ones who survived either killed some of the experiments for food, or had no choice but to breed with them, making a subspecies that they called, simply the Gaiatians.194Please respect copyright.PENANAYEzCYgFjiO
The Lunestics were the most advanced out of the four groups, and ended up reigning supreme against the three planets that the Afrödites fled to. They all agreed to have noting more to do with Gaia because of their past with them, and the because of the fact that they thought the losers of the war died. 194Please respect copyright.PENANADmzlup9B5p
It was not until the Lunestic second era that they ventured to Gaia to maybe make use of the planet's space once more. When they found that their cousins had bred with the experiments and made an intelligent subspecies of Afrödites, they were intrigued and they decided to take a few back to Lunestica to run tests. Eventually, they were released in to the Lunestic public where they were either killed by others through discrimination or bred with pure Lunestics, making an even smaller subspecies. The mixed breed lineage only has one direct blood line left by the fifth era because they eventually died off, but died out by the 6th era, save for one individual who was resurrected with their advanced technology some 500 years later.194Please respect copyright.PENANAFEZxyH3xvX
By the 6th era, the Gaiatians had become their own technologically advanced civilization, but were considered the most primitive out of all of the civilizations. Their history was lost to time and they did not even know where they came from as a species. They didn't even know that there was even life outside their own planet. And they even gave their planet a new name— Earth.194Please respect copyright.PENANA3cWH1EJwO4
No other civilization called it that, though.194Please respect copyright.PENANASS2UxIulHd
During the Lunestic 6th era, a new and brutal emperor reigned across the universe, taking any land he could find. When he could not find any more locally to take, his eyes became set to Gaia.194Please respect copyright.PENANAvVh03aE7AU
