"Tessa" Her mum called from outside her room. "Get Up!, You're already late for school''
'Hmm' Tessa groans. "Coming Mom" she calls to her mother and makes her way to her speaker before entering the bathroom. She plays one of her favorite songs: Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You and hurries to the bathroom.
Tessa hums as she takes her bath.
''Tessa Thompson, Turn off that music now!" Tessa's mum Ruby yelled at her
''Sorry, Mum, I can't'' Tessa replied from the bathroom
Mum really hates music she thought. She loved her mom and all but she just kept denying her of what she enjoyed most.
She finished her bath and put on a plain blue top on black pleated skirt. She packed her dark curls into a rough bun and hurried to meet her already waiting mother.
She was late to school and her mom wasn't happy with that because she missed the bus.
"You should try to wake up early and stop listening to music early in the morning" Tessa's mum scolded
"Yes mum" Tessa replied apologetically
Her mum was listening to the radio news. Tessa was already getting bored.
"Mum could you please change the channel to another one" Tessa pleaded
"No" her mum snapped.
She quickly found her headphones and plugged them in. She listened to music the whole time and forget that she had arrived at school.
"Tessa, Tessa" her mum called frowning
"I'm going to seize those headphones, if you are not careful"
"Yes ma'am" Tessa replied.
She picked up her bag, bade her mum goodbye and walked into the four walled building of her school.
