Chapter 3 – A pool of BLOOD
“What?!” John asked with bewildered horror.
“ ....it is the truth, John.” Mr. Robertson replied.
“How do you know? It cannot be true! “ John exclaimed.
“I know the lady. I know why she passed away...I am the REASON she passed away.”
“Wait, what?” John asked. He was no longer excited or horrified but rather.. shocked.
“You see.... WAIT! John, listen I will tell you all I know but..not now.”
“You have to tell me NOW. You are the one who got me into this mess!!”
“ Yes I know. But YOUR family is in danger! You need to go there. Just know that Amelie does not trust anyone anymore...she believes you have read the letter...which has the truth and now she will sting you and your family ....
DEAD.. “
“What does the letter contain?”
“Information she wants no-one to know.”
“I- I – HOW ARE YOU SO CALM?!”
“ Because I know my end is drawing near, John but I want you to be safe. You are an honest man. That is why I plead you to go home and see if your wife is doing well. She may have..”
“W-WHAT WILL SHE DO TO MY WIFE?!”
“Look. Try to understand that she wants NO evidence whatsoever about her plan...of murdering me.”
“What are you saying?”
“She wants to KILL you and she believes you have told her about the information of the letter to your wife. She may try to..”
“No...No....NOOOOO....HOW DARE YOU GIVE ME SUCH A RISKY JOB? YOU POTENTIALLY ARE GOING TO KILL ME?!”
John begins to exclaim in shock and anger holding with strong grip, the collar of Mr. Robertson yet he surprisingly remains calm
“I know why you possess resentment against me. I understand. I did not know she would actually come back to haunt me – that my PAST actions would actually come back to haunt me and you who is completely innocent. But, please go to your wife and protect her. She needs your help.”
“W –what?”
“Please.”
John, overcomes his astonishment and runs out of the office pushing several employees. He begins to sprint but it was a very windy day. He could hardly run as dust flew everywhere on his nose, throat and eyes and mixed with his glistening tears that he had been keeping in as he heard this... but those tears flooded out the moment he dashed out of that Office room. It was the most devastating bit of news that would forever change his and his loved one’s life. He fell down to the ground and was shocked to see the cover of a newspaper. The conductor of his train was found dead with a pool of BLOOD surrounding him, with a note at one of the walls of the train saying -
ANYONE INTERESTED IN A DRINK OF BLOOD?
NO?
FINE, I WILL HAVE IT MYSELF.
“No...no...no...” John exclaimed in astonishment.
