There are many things young Edmund Skye, orphaned “father” of his siblings, doesn’t know. For example, he’s probably unaware of the Duke of Tarlaan’s intentions to march south through the border forest at the head of an army. He’s also unaware of the size of this army, or the deadly advancement of their weapons. But most importantly, he’s unaware of the web of secrets, intrigues, and betrayals, which force him to face his fate.
