I rolled over as I heard a weird sound. My human must be back! I leaped off the sofa and made my way through to where she stood.
'Human!' I meowed up at her. I flopped onto my side as she bent down next to me. 'Yes, give me cuddles. No, don’t leave.' My human got back to her feet.
Must follow her. I need more cuddles I watched as she opened the door and quickly slipped out beside her. Oh, I wonder where we’re going together. I hesitated for a moment for a moment as she disappeared into the weird little building the birds sat on. I’m not going there. Those flappy demon things will fight back.
I glanced over to the left. Instead of going near those stupid birds I should go see Timothy. I can always get cuddles from my human later. I’m to pretty to be denied cuddles. Plus, I never get to speak to Timothy anyway. Stupid invisible thing blocking my way out. Doesn’t it understand I need to talk to my friends. I bet it was those pesky birds that did it. They’re trying to take over my house, I know it! Well I won’t let them.
I hopped into the wall and surveyed the vast jungle below. Of course, the one day I get to see that lazy lump and he’s not here. Why isn’t he on his perch like he normally is? He loves that table as much as I love scratching the sofa. My human always gets mad at me for that. I don’t really understand why. I’m just getting my claws ready for protecting my house that I so graciously let them share.
I jumped off the wall and began to make my way through the jungle, flicking the dirt off my paws as I went. The tall green plants brushed against my side. These things are so cold. Perhaps coming out here was a mistake. Inside is so warm and out here’s so cold and disgusting. Too late. Now I must venture onwards.
I stopped as I reached the great green fence. I may be amazing at everything but there is no way I can get over that. It must be touching the sky. At least it must also get to the birds. I bravely made my way through to the opening in the fence. Just my luck, it’s not open. Where’s the old human? He can always get through the fence. Like magic. I’m the only one who’s allowed to use magic. I’m a wizard for goodness sakes. I glanced around and spotted a hole. There’s my exit. I got low to the ground and squeezed out the hole. Clearly I need to lay off the tuna. It’s just too good though.
Now we’re out here. What do we do next? There is fences at my beautiful face and behind. Best go right then. I see a lot of green there. I like green. My humans have these really great things in my house which are so fun to chew. They’re not the tastiest though. And some of them try to poke you in the eye. Let’s hope nothing out here does that to me. Who knows what dangers lurk out here? I am always hearing weird noises outside. Loud bangs that are always followed by splashes of colour are most common these days. My human gives me cuddles then.
Perhaps leaving her wasn’t such a good idea. Who’s going to give me cuddles now? My human helps me defeat the intruders. (Even though I don’t need help. I’m the best. But it’s the thought that counts.) And this hard stuff underneath my paws is making them sore. How do they walk on this? Those weird things with the stringy things that the humans put on their paws must help. Maybe the green stuff will be nicer. It looks softer like the stuff that’s underneath my paws in my house. I shall find out then get back to my human.
I padded my way over to the green. My paws gradually began to feel warmer as I made my way forth. I bet my human will be so proud when she hears about this. And this will show those birds how strong I am. Look at me, going on an adventure on my own. And what an adventure it’s turning out to be. All I could see was green. Underneath my paws was bright green. In the distance there was tall brown things that had lots of green on top. Those look good. Good for climbing. So that’s just what I’ll do.
I quickly made my way over to them. Quite tall. Lucky that I’m good at climbing. I leaped up and dug my claws into it. This is fun. I clambered up and lay down. Kind of tiring though. Perhaps I’ll lay here for a while. I watched the birds flapping about. Not fair. They’re even higher than me. Maybe I’ll try get them after I sleep. I’m so tired. It’s a lot of walking for my little legs. That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I closed my eyes and tried to block out the noise of those stupid annoying little birds. I’ll get them when I wake up. Too tired now.
I opened my eyes after what must have been half the day. Or probably more like an hour. It wasn’t a very comfortable place to sleep. My hammock is so much comfier. Maybe it was time to go back home. I need to continue defending my house anyway. Well someone needs to do it. And I’m the greatest defender of houses there is. But how do I get back? I knew I should have remembered where I went. Now I’m lost and I might never see my human or my bed again.
I hopped down to the ground and began sniffing the air. I stopped as I smelt a familiar scent. That’s my house! And my human! And my bed! Must get home before my human steals my bed again. That or the birds get in. I can’t let that happen. I made my way towards the scent as quickly as my little legs would let me. Got to get to my house! Got to get home!
There’s the hole in the fence. Got to squeeze through it again. Ugh. It’s too small. I’m sure Timothy will fix this if ask nicely enough. I leaped over the wall and spotted my human standing beside my food bowl.
'Human!' I meowed loudly. 'You won’t believe the day I had.'
