"I'm so excited about this cruise!" I say excitedly. Ariel rolls her eyes and laughs at me.
"You're excited about anything and everything we do." I roll my eyes in response.
"Grace isn't coming is she?" Ariel and Grace have never liked one another, all they do is argue.
"She invited me to the cruise... But hey! You won't even have to see her." Ariel nods in response and we continue down the road in silence.
An hour passes by and we finally arrive at the cruise, then check into our room. "I'm going to walk around the cabin, you coming?" I ask Ariel.
"Not right now Camila, I'm exhausted and need some sleep," Ariel says exhausted.
"Come on Ariel. Stop being so lazy." I walk around to jump on Ariel while she's laying on the couch. "Get off! Camilaaaaa!"
"Ugh! Fine, but I'll be back," I shout before closing the door to the room. What is there to do on the ship? I wonder if-
"Hello everyone, let me be the first to welcome you to cruise ship SS-10. Please feel free to check out the exhibits we have. There will also be a party at the pool and club tonight at nine. Hope to see you all there!" The captain cuts off the PA system and everyone continues about their day. I think I'll check out one of the exhibits.
As I enter the animal exhibit, something seems off. I'm not the only person in the room but the people here... I don't know, something doesn't seem right about them. I can't quite put my finger on it. "Looking for someone?" Jumping I do a quick 360 only to find a stranger staring at me.
"Don't do that you scared me!" I say in a startled tone.
"My bad, I was just wondering why you seemed so lost in thought. He responds, with curiosity in his voice.
"Something just seems off in here, don't you think?" He looks confused as if what I just said was the weirdest thing he has ever heard.
"I think it's just you." I roll my eyes at him in response.
"What's your name anyway?" I ask.
"Guess."
"How the hell do you expect me to guess your name? There's like a million possibilities." I respond in annoyance.
He laughs and says, "Xavier." There's a pause "And you?"
"That's for me to know and you to never know," I say in a playful tone.
"I'll have you know that I am a very good guesser." He smiles.
"Then what is it?" I say.
"Camila." I give him a weird look
"How-" I'm interrupted by my phone ringing. "Hello?"
"Hey, Cam. Where are you at? Hazel and Grace showed up looking for you and I swear I'm gonna break Grace in half if you don't get here right now." Ariel sounds furious.
"I'm on my way," I say, hanging up the phone. "Hey, Xavier I-" I turn around to find him gone. How nice of him to leave before I got a chance to say goodbye. Weird.
Arriving at my room, I open the door to reveal Hazel standing in between Ariel and Grace trying to break up the fight. They would have already taken each other's heads off if it wasn't for Hazel being in between them.
"You have some nerve coming into my room, talking to me like that!" Ariel shouts, her voice shaking the room.
"Well, I'm only telling the truth!" Grace's face is growing redder by the minute.
"Both of you stop it! Grace you know damn well Ariel has a problem with you, just like you have one with her. So why the hell are you here?!?" Irritation creeps its way into my voice. Grace huffs and storms out of the room. Or she tries to when someone comes booming through our door and shoots Grace, then runs the way they came. The door swings shut and the room starts to fill with gas. Hazel and I rush to Grace, but she's already gone. Hazel starts to freak out. "What the fuck! What the actual fuck just happened!?!" Hazel is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, Ariel is trying to calm down Hazel, but I'm in so much shock I tune everything out. Tears are fighting to escape, a few do, but before any more can fall the room starts spinning. The gas is filling the room faster than before. Hazel is banging on the door trying to get it open, but it won't budge. I attempt to do the same but fail. The door is locked and we can't get it open. Ariel is trying to filter the air with clothes, but it's pretty much useless at this point.
