She slinked through the jungle turning at every movement. She heard a rustle. She spotted a rabbit. She was careful not to alert it. She pounced. She drew a claw ready to strike to kill. She stopped. What was she doing? She threw the claw away. Her mother gave it to her when a snowcat she captured lost most of its claws. Cass thought that meant the snowcat had babies. Cass wasn't a very good student so that probably wasn't true. Besides her mother would not keep a pregnant snowcat right? Cassandra was the daughter of the queen so she got things like that. But I still have to do this to prove my worth she thought. She asked her for more time to get ready. She said she did the trial at 12. Cass was 13. She asked for a shorter trial. Her mother said the only chance of that was if she captured a magical creature or a wizard. Cass thought that wizards with their creatures were evil. They must be. Right if we're fighting them. Cass tried to find a magical creature for a day. Then she got hungry. That rabbit was supposed to be dinner. She heard a roar.
A boy's voice rang out. "Quiet, Shadow! You'll scare the birds away!" She then heard a meow. "It's ok. I know you didn't mean it. I want to find her as much as you. I hope the babies don't come." She peered into the clearing. She spotted a boy about 14. She looked around the clearing. She spotted a sprite. Which meant this boy was .... She took out her blade which alerted her body guard Blade. The boy heard her blade. He turned and spotted her. He alerted his group by saying "Oh look. A warrior. Lets show them how we fight. A lot cleaner than you warriors."
"I could beat you any day!" she said.
"Oh!" He said "Really?" She was about to say yes but faltered. There was a snow cat on one side who had looked sad when she first saw him but now looked raging mad like ready to tear her apart. On the other side was a sprite with its wings beating so fast that his wings were on fire. In the background she saw a lot of roots. Oh wait that was a giant!
"I'm the daughter of Bellona, the queen of the warriors" she said hoping to stop him from attacking. It only made Shadow angrier.
"And I'm the son of Erebus, the king of the wizard world." he said. From his expression, she believed him. Great! I am a okay fighter. I should be able to capture him. She attacked. Draco deflected without looking. This might be tougher than I thought.
