Those of you who are into computer/pc gaming, may know this name. It is the name of a special unit in a strategy based game. Interestingly I can't remember the name of the game; I was playing back in 1998-9 may be! But the unit is immortal in my mind.
So who was this unit? It's one of the three kinds of magicians that you can recruit; others being black and red. Whereas the red mage was proficient in fire-based magic and the black mage was famous for dark arts, the white mage was all about life. He was the positive energy source of the kingdom. He could heal, support and cleanse all living units. Also, he could do serious harm to any undead unit!
Now, you have to understand that calling oneself "White_Mage" is pretty egoistic and bold. I am not the all positive guy who heals others; nor am I proficient in cleansing others gloom and darkness of souls. Still I love to carry this title as I, at least in my dreams, want to be one such person in my life!
However, there are some common pain points in having this nick, which mostly come from strangers in IRCs or chat channels/apps. Being a person from Bangladesh where the colloquial term for prostitute is 'Magi' (believe me, it's not the Magi mentioned in the Bible, it's pronounced as Ma-gee), I got knocks many a times regarding my availability for paid sex! I have to take some time to explain to them about the 'Mage' term as it stands for a Magician and not for a paid sex-worker. You can guess what happens after the explanation, horny males are not much well-spoken when their intentions are not met!
but enough about that! The title that I am using here is one which I adore for a long time and it gives me a purpose as well as some good confidence. I will try to share my life related experiences and my various thoughts on many different topics (actually whatever comes in my mind and I want to share with you all) through this nick/title. So stay with me if u please.....I can't guarantee you laughter or wisdom but I will surely share some experiences about life or something like that.....
