Naruto had moved to a different team after the wave mission. He moved to team 6 who was led by Anko Mitarashi. His new teammates were Y/N and Kaori Nara. Y/N and Kaori we're both inguied from the chunin exams. So he started to go on missions with Sai and Sakura. There team work was almost as bad as the old team. Since Sasuke was no longer there Sakura wouldn't listen to anyone. Sai was there but he was so emotionless that Sakura was scared of him. Naruto tried to bring them together but it just wouldn't work. So Kakashi decided to do a B rank mission, because the team would be forced to work together, just like the wave mission.

So, Naruto, Sai and Sakura were on a mission to the Tea village. Turns out Orochimaru had some business in that village. Orochimaru had beaten all of them. Long story short, Naruto pushed Sakura out of the way, saving her life. The jutsu hit him instead. He had been in the hospital for more than a week, the kyuubi couldn't heal him because Naruto had already used all of the kyuubi's charka.

Naruto groggyly sat up. Y/N rushed to him crying. Naruto could only hold her as she cried her eyes out.

"Why? Why do you always try to protect her. What has she ever done for you? She used to hit you and ignore you all the time.... Why did you have to risk you life for her" Y/N started to punch his chest softly. Naruto thought for a while. "It doesn't matter how she treats me. She was my teammate. Teammates protect each other no matter what. Someone once told me that People who break the rules are scum, but people who abondon their teammates are worse then scum." Y/N still didn't get it. "They aren't your teammates anymore. Me and Kaori are." Naruto took a deep breath. "No... they aren't my teammate now but they were. They we're the ones I spent almost all of my time with. So, no matter how hard I try to break the bonds I have had with them I just can't. Sure I could lie all day and say that they never meant anything to me but I won't, I can't. I don't want to lie about my feeling. I'm a ninja. I could die any day. So I don't want to die while I have regrets. I don't want to die knowing that someone I cared for didn't know. And I definitely don't want to live knowing that I could have saved them. So yeah everytime my old teammates are in trouble I'm going to help them. Everytime they are in danger I'm going to get them out of it, even if it cost me my life. They will always have a place in my heart even if I'm not in theirs. I don't care if this changes the way you view me. You can think I'm suicidal. You can think that I'm crazy. You can think anything you want. Just don't try to judge what you don't know." He had never told anyone how he felt. Sure his friends would always ask why he cared but he just shrugged it off, smile widely and said that he didn't know. So Y/N was the first person he actually told this to.
