Red blotches my sight, this is a putrid cycle of repetition

A mother never graduates, neither does her daughter

A father never went to college, his son skips

As i sit and watch this horrible slaughter

A mouthful of vexed words form on my lips

As I watch, I realize there's nothing to be done.

For i am up here, above the chasm, watching
